Depends what you consider most important in a flight sim.

“X-Plane in a year from now”. I’m crying I’m laughing so hard. Spilt my beer.

you mean 10 years right ?

X plane must have enought servers to have all the world graphics as MSFS has And a partner with some kind of map service… so i dont belive they will have that

Lol, nah. Xplane is still on that vulkan experiment, since years already. It s still Xplane 10 with a new GUI. They have so many things to improve before it can be called a sim. So far only the flight model and system depth deserve to be called a simulator experience, the other aspects are clearly what a game offers. Don’t hold your breath, btw, austin pumps resources into Xplane mobile. The mobile game version instead of the desktop game.

Asobo/MSFS loading screen…followed by… Vulkan Device error. Yeah that would be good.

No chance whatsoever

Austin said he’s not changing much in XP

All those irrational fanboys wanting to believe that Austin pulls a Fs2020 outta nowhere with no funds. Somebody will have to pay for all that development if Xplane were to attempt that. On top of that, before coding all that he would have to redo parts of the engine, that alone is years of work with a studio that small, and before that he’d have to plan all the parts of the new code, create an architecture that can handle all those complexities, fund the servers to stream and test all that for a userbase that is 10times smaller than the Fsx/P3D userbase. Simply not worth the risk, especially if Ms/Asobo are already doing it RIGHT NOW and better than austin ever could. Just forget it, won’t happen ANYTIME soon.

Nobody get/understood what I wanted to say… nobody.. what I wanted to say is this:

Both games-simulators (and other games) has a lot of problems but it seems to me if you can make a hybrid, combine good parts of both games you can create new much better simulation-game. There are some parts in x-plane better than in Asobo and there are some parts better in Asobo than in x-plane…

And what is very interesting is that I gave the name to that hybrid game: VHU

but nobody asked what those 3 letters mean. Because all of you are so occupied to attack/protect “your” game. But game is not yours. Yours is choice to play one or the other.

And there is the core problem: EGO (who has better car?) Ego blind you and you jump to attack x-plane and protect msfs 2020… or vice versa… like real fanboys.

But I will tell you this: you are making huge mistake.. huge.. do you, can you understand why?

You are not producer you are customer. They want your money.

And you have to protect yourself and all other customers not developers who will ask money from you. You have to demand best product for your money!

x-plane, msfs, p3d they all want your money and let me tell you this: your money is not in alpha, beta or any other unfinished mode… it’s finished product… no patches, no updates…

So instead attacking each other for the product that you didn’t create, demand for your hard earned money best product.. or ask developers to accept 10 EUR or USD and with every patch, update you will give small amount of you hard earned money until product is finished in some reasonable and acceptable state.

At the end VHU is for “Very Happy User”

.

And austin doesn’t?

OMG can you read? can you read?

All of them Austin, orbx, Asobo, toyota, LR, bmw all will ask you to pay to the last cent. LAST CENT ! Is it clear now … for.. you?

I’d buy VHU - when will it be released?

Because I think, bottom-line, if no one paid to use MSFS because it isn’t perfect, Asobo/MS will not just suck it up, and try to develop a better product for next time.

No market = no money = no profit = no payroll = no business.

I love Xplane11 but it’s a mature product.

In a years time MSFS will be a mature product, with bugs fixed and additional features added to the sim, MSFS should then have the best bits from P3D, Xplane and FSX… in others words the fully featured sim that, in it’s present form promises to be.

In a years time Xplane should be Xplane12 and be in the same boat that MSFS is in now, waiting for bug fixes and 3PD aircraft.

My only question is how some of these people got into the tech alpha. Looks like there wasnt much of a vetting process.

So did you approach Asobo with your idea to just merge their code base with Laminar? Tell me how THAT went…

Serious question,

X-plane has Blade Element thing… but where is the promised 1000 surfaces per aircraft that FS2020 was promising?

There is no way the aerodynamics in FS2020 is more realistic than XPlane.
Case in point the Boeing 787 in FS2020 is horribly messed up…
