Question re: CJ4 & Longitude Rudder Deflection Curve

I added a damper to my TPR rudder pedals and that prompted me to mess about with their sensitivity settings.

I just happened to load C&D into the CJ4 and switched to external view to watch the rudder’s behavior as I worked the pedals.

What I noted is I barely have to press a rudder pedal down to hit maximum deflection of the rudder. In other words, it seemed like my sensitivity was way out of whack.

I loaded the Longitude and noted a similar behavior.

I loaded various other aircraft and do not see this “hair trigger” rudder motion. I have to really utilize the full travel of my rudder pedals to get full rudder deflection.

I have no real world experience with these aircraft. Is this working as intended or is the rudder curve off on these two aircraft?

Do you notice this effect in flight as well, or is it maybe just an animation bug? I have a very very fuzzy recollection of a discussion on animation accuracy being off…

I did not fly either of them, no.

I will do so and see how they perform. Interesting insight.

This phenomenon appears to be strictly related to being on the ground.

With the aircraft airborne, the rudder appears to have normal animation and behavior as expected for the amount of pedal input.
