Questions for MSFS 2024

So I was a user of MSFS 2020 for the longest time. Now that they added Guided Tours and Bush Trips are coming back this next SU, I have finally started moving into MSFS 2024. But I have some questions:

  1. 2020, if you had a default airport, say KORD, and then you bought a 3rd party KORD, you had to go into Content Manager and deactivate the default KORD. I was told you don’t have to deactivate default content anymore, that the 3rd party should automatically supercede. Is this correct?

  2. I’ve been told that there is no limit to content you can have streamed now, versus 2020 you could only get about 1200 addons loaded before the sim crashed. Has anyone run into any limits?

  3. I had to setup my flight stick and throttle. And then every plane I go into, I have to specify to use my setup that I did instead of using the default one. Is there a way to set it up so that MY setup is the default?

  4. I have the LG 45 inch 5K2K monitor. That monitor used to make 2020 crash all the time. So far, 2024 seems ok with it. Has anyone had any problems with a 5K2K monitor in 2024?

Sorry for asking rather basic questions. I prepurchased 2024 2 years ago now, and am finally getting to use it. But now after 2 years of not flying, it kind of feels like I am starting out from scratch again.

Moved to User Support Hub that is more appropriate for community support.

In the Basic Controls page click on the device you want. In the airplanes controls you can duplicate the settings and rename to your preference. Apply to all aircraft by clicking on airplanes controls gear. There you can Export your setting to a safe place and Import it again when needed. This will also add a number in brackets of how many different types of setups you can have for that device/plane.

I set one up for F18, one for Cessna 208B, and a helicopter setup.

General controls for switches and stuff

Airplanes controls for flaps ailerons, brakes, etc.

Specific controls for that specific plane etc.

You cannot change locked profiles but you can duplicate them then give them your own name, then make changes.

Around 6 years, I guess?
