Questions from someone getting back into VR (maybe...)

Hello All,

I hung up the VR headset about 8 months ago (just got tired of the endless chase for performance plus the sim updates were really buggy for VR back then). But, after seeing many people really enjoying the newly released freeware Discus glider in VR I figured it might be worth another shot. Here are questions from someone that hasn’t VR’d in a while asks:

  1. Before I quit using VR I could get my GPU up to around 85-95% utilization just as I have now in non-VR mode. Now I’m back down to 45% pretty consistently - what things should I try first to get that back up?

  2. I used to use OTT but now I see ODT referenced all the time in these forums. Ditch the OTT for the ODT? And what are the key settings to use or avoid?

NOTE: I haven’t touched driver (457.30), NCP, OTT or in game settings in months. Don’t laugh at the driver

I understand that everything advice wise is “system specific” for the most part - just looking for some general guidance.

A big thanks in advance for any tidbits of info.

Cheers!

With the very latest driver, no OTT, and mostly high and ultra settings, I’m getting a very smooth experience. I use GA aircraft only as not interested in jets.

I’ve got the Quest 2 too, the RTX3070 and my CPU is an i7 XEON o/c to 4.3 ghz.
