Quick plane test rides & teleportation!

I just discovered two very cool features under the development menu bar (Options | General | Developers | Developer Mode - Set ON)
Under the “Windows” options are two great sub-menu items:

  1. Aircraft Selector - Expand the window so you can see all the aircraft. You can select any aircraft that you have access to & click “Load”. Your current aircraft will disappear, and the newly selected one will take its place. If you get yourself in the air before you do this you can easily try out every aircraft in flight without the pain of going through the flight startup process for each one.

  2. Teleport Window - this window will allow you to type in either an ICAO or the latitude/longitude you want to jump to. For example, type in the lat/lon of your house. At first you’ll be parked on a barren landscape. Then the trees & buildings will appear and you’ll be parked on your roof! Very cool way to quickly find interesting landmarks. I haven’t tried this one while in flight…

Nice job Asobo/Microsoft. Even with a few first-release warts this is an astonishing product. Keep up the good work - it is much appreciated!

Great find! Also, sim rate is great as well!

hi i installed the sdk turn on dev mode on but that part is grey out anything else i need to do

You have to be in a flight somewhere (or on the runway) for the teleport or aircraft selection to be enabled.

yeap thanks dumb of me

I use a little program called VFRMap that has this teleport feature by clicking anywhere on its map.
I was a bit surprised when I shot myself into the tundra above the Yukon, and I got there before the terrain did. But as you said, it eventually caught up. :slightly_smiling_face:
