Mine has sound, but fuel problem is happening for me to. Cannot figure it out. Me and colleagues are working on this and its posted here in the forums as well.
The DeHavilland DH2 seems to have the same issue with ‘refueling’ but with the Q200, it shows up with zero fuel. About 30 seconds of fuel and it shuts down. If you try loading it in the Config center in the flight setup, it shows half a tank. You can top off the plane in the EFB fueling section also in Config Setup and when you load into the flight, zero fuel.
No idea what is causing this. I have cross compared with other planes configs, nothing seems different.
The tanks on the Q200 are odd. It has a header tank under the instrument panel cover behind the engine, 5 gallons. Another under/behind the pilots, 15 gallons. A transfer pump is used to move fuel forwards. But at half tanks, they should each show as 50%.
My thoughts are, since it works fine in 2020, and same for the DH2, that this is a 2024 issue. If only we could figure it out… .
Hmm. Strange. I’ll try again and also try deleting the StreamedPackages folder first to see (or rather, to hear) if that gets the sounds back. I’ve had similar problem that was fixed by this in a few planes. Spitfire by Flying Iron is a different case and I thought maybe the Q200 was like that.
For the fuel issue I suppose using unlimited fuel is a workaround for now?
Hi Bill. I tried again with no luck on fresh streamed aircraft, no sounds here.
The Tailwinds do work (except the screens are not displaying correctly but that is a different issue that I should probably post on that topic page?!)
The sound issues are common for Marketplace purchases. Seems like on startup not all the files are downloaded.
There should be a folder called StreamedPackages in the same folder as your 2024 Community. Go into StreamedPackages and find the folder for the Quickie and move it somewhere else.
Restart 2024 and it should download the Quickie folder again. Sometimes it takes a few restarts.
Well I’m not even sure a few more restarts will help. I don’t know what the trigger is to get the sounds.
I had to do a reinstall this afternoon of 2024. After reinstall and startup NONE of my planes had sound. Thankfully I took a backup and sounds are back. But three restarts didn’t fix it.
Here’s what is going one. The plane has not passed testing, so you are getting a pure MSFS 2020 version. In testing, we have found that there is an issue with fuel. I cannot get it to load into a flight with fuel. It shows up with about 1 minute of fuel and runs dry. You cannot load fuel through the 2024 ‘Add Fuel’ keyboard shortcut, nor through the EFB tablet, nor at fueling stations. It should load up with half tanks, or… with what you load it with. I have worked on this for several days now, and have had this post in the MSFS Dev forum, and no one has answered. No one knows what it is. I have tried fixes, but NADA.. Nothing works.
The Q2 and Q200 have a radical little far-out fuel system; a header tank under the instrument panel shield, up by the engine firewall that holds 5 GAL of fuel, and a 15 GAL tank under the pilots seats. You use a transfer pump to pull fuel from the 15 GAL Center 2 tank to the front tank. Similar to Concord.
I have also revamped the Flight Model to handle much better. In 2024, it was violent, over-reacting to input compared to in 2020, so I redid it completely and even now, it seems just a bit touchy, but I think its like 50% better then it was. This isnt a tune, but a rebuild of the flight model.
Sound should be fine. Mine and testers are fine. No issues. It might be a computer issue. Those with sound issues, can you tell me what you are running it on?
I have quite a bit of little things done to it. As soon as she is ready, I’ll come back here and let you all know when its ‘passed’ its testing and ready for launch.
Some of the things it now has;
Rebuilt Flight Model
3D light emmitters in the landing lights cups in the wings
Animated proper Asobo pilots (I found a way to compress them in that tight aeroshell)
No issues with any other aircraft apart from those that were known to have problems though. Like Flying Iron’s Spitfire.
I have an AMD 7850X3D, RTX4080, 64gb DDR5, running HDMI on a Mobiuz ultrawide monitor (with built-in speakers) but I fly VR using Quest 3. I don’t use the audio over Quest 3 though, I have separate Wireless Steel Series Arctis Nova 7 headphones. The motherboard sound card is used to drive my HF8 Haptic Seat
I have tried deleting the streamed aircraft and re-enabling it se real time. I can fly though so not sure I’m getting the same fuel problem. Maybe I didn’t try for over a minute.
Thanks Craig. Thats good to know, and very disappointing. Probably because it is trying to link to a file on the computer, and the planes in 2024 are all ghosts, online streamers. Cant link to them.
For all wanting to know about an update on the Q200:
Fuel issue still not figured out. No one at the various FS Developer sites including Asobo’s dev support site will answer or have answers to the issue. Total anomaly… I need to fix this before an update can be done.
Sound issue; We cannot figure this out. The package has the file inside of it, its not routed to the source, but has the source inside. I had requested permission to do this from MS/Asobo, so its inside the package, no routing. So for it to not work in the sim makes no sense. Asobo state that the PC file is the same in XBox. It uses that also.
So… as soon as I find out how to get the fuel system to work, I’ll post an update.
Sound system is out of my hands. That should be working. So I am putting this issue on Asobo, a flaw somewhere in the platform.
I have been trying to get the Quickie working proper in 2024 all this time. I have come to the conclusion that the ‘manual conversion’ process by Asobo/MCP for a 2020 plane to be streamed into 2024, is breaking the plane. The plane works fine in 2020 and also when you drop the ‘Community Folder’ version into 2024. Perfect. But when its modified and put into the Streaming version in 2024 by MCP, its broken. The fuel system will not work and the sound system will not work. Something on their end, their procedure is breaking it. They do not wish to redo another upload to see if this might fix it, so it is being delisted from the 2024 store. You can get it in 2020, but not 2024.
Sorry People. I did all I could. It works fine in 2020 and in 2024 in Community folder system. I am labeling this as a Asobo issue, or the MCP store conversion issue. Its working fine before they compile it to 2024 streaming.
