Radio Frequency and waypoint tuning

Brief description of the issue: WIth the very fine and small resolution on some of the dials and the difficulty of manipulating the knobs as in a real plane can we get back to clicking on the dial and then using the keyboard to enter the data… Takes way to long and does not simulate real world interfaces very well. Difficult to enter waypoints and frequencies in critical situation.

Remember that you can zoom with the mouse wheel to get a better view of dials. I hope I don’t need to add that clicking on the dial face then entering a number with the keyboard doesn’t simulate the real world very well either.

Personally I recommend disabling mouse wheel zoom by default, as it makes it much easier to use the mouse wheel to manipulate knobs and wheels accurately.

Also, do your input when in one of the instrument views not the default cockpit view where everything shakes and moves while you’re trying to click things with the mouse! Or disable camera shake entirely in settings.

That can be a pain, it’s true. Miss the dial as you rotate, and you zoom instead. What I do is press down on my hat switch on the yoke to go into one of the instrument views. The instrument views aren’t affected by the movement of the plane, and are locked rigid.

All the Avionics tuing comments are great but all require way to much tine not looking out the window or at the instruments when IFR. Totally unrealistic and certainly not useable for real world situational practice. The question ought to be answered by the DEVELOPERS as to why the same type of interface for Avionics setup or tuning (using the keyboard) as was in FSX can’t be implemented here.
