This is what I’m seeing at 18°21’00.9"N 85°09’00.1"W
Not the best of lighting, but there is definitely rain on the windscreen.
Although I don’t like how the rain drops just kind of pulsates on the same spot.

agree. Didn’t see the rain on the windshield for some time. Something don’t work as intended, or has been downgraded.
Oddly, I just flew the TBM through a nasty rain storm (live weather is working well and matching local weather perfectly today). There were droplets on the side windows while I was taxiing, much like yours, but that was it. Saw nothing on my main windscreen as I was flying through it. Even went into my settings and set everything to ULTRA to make sure. Took a nasty frame hit in the process, but no rain on my windscreen.
One time I noticed a hurricane on the world map that I’d seen mentioned in the news. Flew into it and had tons of rain. Haven’t done much rain flying so far otherwise and that indeed was before the last patch release, but I’ll have to test and report back with a screenshot.
I remember that well. There were tons of people there to fly through the hurricane, most taking off from St Barthelemy. I was there in the Extra 300 and there was plenty of rain. And it looked awesome. The wind could have been better though.
There’s a thread about this on the Bugs subsection, and it’s really weird, but some people are reporting seeing rain properly when switching from the Displayport to the HDMI output on their Graphics cards.
Really really weird if it’s true, but worth a try if you’ve got that option.

OUch, If it works on HDMI and not on DP, that means we have some really shoddy coding behind this.
OK, I can’t believe it. Using an HDMI cable instead of DisplayPort actually makes the rain appear. I just popped in on a random field (bad field for the Longitude lol), set it to rain, and this is what I’m seeing. It’s glorious!
Now that said, I always used DP and rain used to work after release.
that’s one for Zendesk then for sure.
That’s what I don’t see with the displayport. Time to report to zendesk then. Just done
Just filed a Zendesk report. Rain stopped working for me with 1.8.3. It worked with DP before that as that’s what I’ve always used.
I’m willing to bet everyone at Asobo is connected via HDMI and no one’s ever noticed the missing rain.
Thank you so much for pointing this out, my dude. Flying in rain right now and it looks amazing. I’d buy you a beer if I could. Or the non-alcoholic drink of your choice if you’re underage.
♪♫ Here comes the rain again…♫♪
a beer would be just fine Enjoy the rain
Dammit. I’m an astrophotographer. I’m not supposed to enjoy rain. Or clouds. But they look SOOOOO good.
OK, so just tried right now but I set to the weather to Rain. Took off at Honolulu Intl. This is not live weather but I’ll test that now too for somewhere that is rainy and report back. The rain for me looks amazing!!! Even when I hit a clear spot I could see the opaque rain drop over the ocean and flew into and went back into heavy rain.
@Rev20105189, a re you using DisplayPort or HDMI? Please let us know…
See post above…
Oh terrific.
My DP isn’t in use cos I’m outputting to a dolby 7.1 surround sound AVR…through the HDMI port. The AVR then outputs to the monitor through another HDMI port.
And I don’t see rain. By the sound of it, if I want rain I’ve gotta lose surround sound.
Just when I thought this sim couldn’t be any more ridiculous…
Display Port. I’m an IT Tech for a living for the past 25 years or so, so not to be rude to anyone but the notion that there’s any difference in the rain due to HDMI vs Display Port is preposterous. The connection won’t change that in any way shape or form. The only difference would possibly be between max refresh rates over certain resolutions and max possible display resolution. So, just forget the display port vs hdmi having anything to do with it.
That said, just did live weather in hurricane Zeta down near the gulf and rain was similar but less amazing looking since it did more that fast jagged look - which I simply attribute to the hurricane force winds.
Dude, I’m in the same boat. In IT since 1994. I thought it was ridiculous too. I can’t explain it. THIS SHOULD NOT WORK. But people in the other thread swore it worked for them. I tried it and it works for me as well. I can’t explain why it does. It just does.
I haven’t seen rain in the game despite hearing it since patch 1.8.3. I swapped to an HDMI cable, and I’m flying in glorious looking rain that looks just like the preview videos.
