I know there are other things that need to be resolved at the moment but asobo is starting to work seriously on the graphic quality and the simulated rain effects….

I’m not familiar, does asobo make this bus simulator? I just see Aerosoft listed
Today at EHRD had plenty of rain in live weather and it was very impressive but unfortunatly i forgot to take a picture, because my focus was at different doings with screen setup, the only i miss is when it hits the tarmac as here the droplets are al the same size and spalsh, while on the windshield they differ in size and stream.
No that was an example of how rain should be represented.

No, it happens almost all the time even when it was raining for couple of hours. 
Rain and its effects seem to be a major issue for Asobo. Why can’t we get proper rain effect and working wipers? this is kind of ridiculous.

My local place has been raining for days. So decided to try out live weather in msfs2024 only to find that it is a bit foggy but 0 rain and the apron is dry. I let the sim sit there for 45minutes it got more foggy with large cb clouds on top of the airfield which seems to coincide with what is happening outside i hear thunders on the sim but still no rain not even a drissle. Meanwhile toggling manual weather the rain does happen. Its not a one off thing no more its been happening repeatedly. Its as if the msfs cant seem to generate rain from live weather and only placed some fog like effect.
Is live weather broken?
Yes, this is the same thing i have been experiencing. No rain at all while it’s all rainy in real. Sometimes it only rains for couple of minutes when i spawn in and stops… It is definitely broken.

I get rain effects only with if windshield effect is set to max settings. In MSFS2020 I had it on medium resulting in very nice effects
Just tried toggling manual weather. There is rain but it seems the sim sort of spawns it so far away from the airfield. I had to manually input the winds to 130knots to get it to reach to my location asap. Also confirmed that there is windshield effect.
Then when i re-enabled live weather its the same fog fest. Worse part the wet soaked puddled apron dried up in a matter of minutes.
Looking at it i think the devs better enabled manual weather to spawn precipitation directly above the user when toggled and to also look at how screwed up live weather is. It seems rain will only spawn from CB clouds based on sat data but many parts of the world have weak weather imagery that do not really depict how much rain is actually coming out unless its a freaking storm. Another surplus factor is the sim not properly digesting what local METAR is giving.

Same here. There is “rain” which is basically only visible by a very few drops in direct light of the aircraft landing lights. But other than that, nothin on the windshields.
This original bug report was created because of the X-Cub not having rain visible from inside the cockpit. SU2 has fixed this:
The bug seems to still exist on some other planes however (just reported on the CJ4 on SU2). It seems to be very plane dependent

In the H125 the wipers clean the drops.

The Citation CJ4 has no rain effects, nor does the Citation Longitude. In the case of the latter, they may not have been added at all after the visual rework, so the dev team might want to take a look at it.
Using SU2 v1.4.9.0, I experimented with using Dev mode to see if some of the aircraft mentioned in this topic can show rain from within the cockpit.
I used Dev mode so that I could load multiple aircraft without having to go back to the main menu every time to change aircraft, and forced windshield rain to show:
This is on my PC (2D, no VR) with Windshield Effect set to “High”. I could switch between High & Medium & the rain still showed, just at a lesser intensity.
Some aircraft mentioned in this topic showed rain in this test, e.g.:

Twin Otter:
PC:12
TBM 930:
C172:
C400 Corvalis:
DA40NG:
No pics, but the following showed rain too: NXCub, Savage Norden, C172SP, DA62, Vision Jet, H225.
However, as reported in previous posts, some do not show any rain effect, suggesting that a fix still needs to be applied to these aircraft: e.g.:

CJ4:
Users could use this method to see if their particular aircraft of interest shows a rain effect on the windshield in cockpit view. If rain does not show in this dev-mode test, presumably it will not show in regular non-dev flight either.

In SU2 Beta v1.4.18.0, rain in the Savage Cub is only showing on the right-hand window. Furthermore, it flows from bottom-to-top rather than front-to-back:
There is no rain effect on eithr the front or Left-hand windows:
