Brief description of the issue:
After whatever the most recent auto update (990mb ish I believe ) while playing the game will completely freeze for 1-3 seconds randomly.
My pc is a dedicated sim rig, it was running fine last time I played two weeks ago and hasn’t been used since. Last night sat down for an update and now I have stuttering. No other OS or software updates were installed aside from Steam updated itself and MSFS

Well I had previously had a near perfect performing experience with MSFS - until this update was applied when I went to play this weekend 12/3/2022 and I think it was a 990mb ish download.

Now throughout the flights I get short complete freezes of the sim. I have a decently beast pc build and I’m running between 40-60fps consistently at all airports and cities and now it will freeze from anywhere from 1-3 seconds. Happens at all phases of flight just randomly.

I have not changed anything on my dedicated msfs system and the pc has been powered off for about two weeks since my last flight (I say this just to make it clear this is a pretty clean way to say the only variables that have changes is Steam updated itself, and MSFS.) no other software install or updates. the only thing installed on this pc is steam, msfs, spad.next, fsuipc, GSX, and pilot2atc.

I have not started trying to update nvidia drivers (or any other software including a pending os update ) yet or anything of the sort as I wanted to see if anyone else had an issue after this update before chasing my own tail. Thanks!!

I have the same thing going on. it feels like its freezing to load scenery but i don’t know for sure.

Im on NVIDIA Driver 527.37
WIn 11
My rig:
ASUS Prime Z590-P
RTX 2080 ti
32 gb ram
NAVE M.2 SSD 2tb
i7-11700K
custom water cooled.

I have had the same issue, although at least I appeared to find a fix on my end. Not sure if you ever had or currently have FSUIPC installed. If you do, I recommend disabling or removing it for the time being as it appears to be buggy with it.

I have a beefy build myself, and the sim became just about unplayable in critical stages of flight. After removing FSUIPC, I was smooth throughout all phases of my flight. Including custom and default scenery.

FSUIPC7 also seems to be the culprit for my system. FSUIPC7 even crashed during my most recent session. Disabling it is, unfortunately, not a viable solution for me. I won’t fly without Pilot2ATC, and FSUIPC7 is required for SmartCARS to track my flight for the Virtual Airline I fly for.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

Stutters appear to have been introduced in one of the recent patches. No changes to data, traffic or visual settings appears to influence the frequency or length.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Yeah, I use it for SmarCARS, hopefully, they find a fix soon. Just gonna have to settle without VA flights for now.

Dang! Since original msfs releases no conflict with FSUIPC , that really hurts if that’s the issue. I’ll give that a shot and see. Thanks for the lead…

Yeah P2atc is one of my must haves also when I don’t want to get on vatsim. I guess we wait and see if it’s a msfs or fsuipc patch coming

I do hope that they fix it here soon. I haven’t had this issue before and it’s really a bummer

I did update FSUIPC7 on my system. There’s a version from as recent as Nov 15 if I remember correctly. (By update, I mean I uninstalled it and reinstalled the newest version) I only really fly on weekends, so I haven’t tested it with this version of FSUIPC7 yet. I’m not expecting it to be fixed since I suspect the problem to be on asobos end, but maybe… :crossed_fingers:

So I thought I’d revisit this one more time. I was messing around with my rolling cache and actually turned it off completely and deleted the rolling cache file. I loaded the sim up and it was buttery smooth.

Not sure if you’re able to try this. I find the cache to be useful if you fly in the same area frequently, but if you’re flying abroad it doesn’t serve its purpose.

I’ve also read that you should occasionally delete the rolling cache folder and let it redownload as areas may be outdated.
