Lately - not sure if post SU5 or post Reverb OpenXR driver update - I can enter VR after staring the sim, but if I switch to 2d, I cannot switch back to VR afterwards. It would say something about no OpenXR device found or something. Its related to the SIM IMHO, because if I restart the sim I can get back to VR.
Has anyone else noticed this? It used to work before, and I do it often on longer flights, as I like to prepare the cockpit, taxu, take off and execute the SID in VR, but then its fatiguing to wear it for a long time. And then I like to re-enable it for landing…
I’ve found at times when switching back to 2D the sim comes to a crawl but will eventually catch up and I’m able to get back in to VR again. Normally once in VR I stay in VR because of the slowdown if I switch out so I can’t say that I’ve ever had a problem getting back in to VR again very often.
It used to be that way. I would get out of VR and it would crawl for a while before releasing FR back - unless I closed the MXR Portal app (which will release it immediately).
But now after exiting VR FR is immediately good, but I can never get back to VR.
In the openxr developer app disable the function „use latest preview“, then the error will be gone

Yes. I’m having this exact same problem. Like you said it seems to be the sim. I’ll try the solution suggested below. I don’t recall having this issue before, and in fact liked being able to switch in and out of vr. Now it’s annoying to have to restart the sim. Hopefully this is a temporary thing.
Thanks CptStevil !! That worked!! It’s nice to be able to switch back and fourth again! What was that “use latest preview” option for anyway? Was it to use a beta version of OpenXR Developmental tool? Anway, it works now thanks to your suggestion.
