Amazing comparison! Definitely room for improvement, but â– â– â– â–  its close!

Great visuals, lots of effort put in that video. Confirms to me though that some sort of color correction is still required in order to match reality.

We still don’t have seasons i FS2020. That’s why all the trees are green there.
They’re also a little too big, which adds to the “problem”. Residential areas almost look like forests from a distance because the houses are hidden by the trees.

Yes! It’s quite apparent on the left in the MSFS 2020 vs. Real World images of OP. Happens in lots of other places, too, unfortunately. There is not the tree variety that shows in real-life images, too.

Awsome work @Doering6514

it’s canny to see the little issues that still remain in fs2020, but i bet it was a lovely flight nonetheless.

Kindest regards and thank you,

Steiny

Thanks very much. Did you notice all the Porter (Dash 8) airplanes parked at Billy Bishop airport? Not flying till next February I think.

Great compare!
Apparently Toronto is known to have the most ravines and trees per capita than any other NA city. However the tree sizes or heights seem a bit too large.
Lots of issues with this new sim. Perhaps released too early? It’s like we’re all beta-testers, who paid big bucks to be so.

No i hadn’t seen the Dash 8’s at what? Billy Bishop… lol… i’ve landed there multiple times now ingame, never stumbled onto that name, lol! Sorry, big fan of that style airport, probably because of Meigs Field in the early days of Flightsim. (which has been recreated, just waiting on it’s update)
Just rechecked your footage, and there’s no way i couldhave reckognized those block shapes as Dash 8’s. Maybe it’s more apparent in the original footage. I just love the comparison. Been a big time fan of flightsim, and although the previous poster is just about right, this is the best version of flightsim yet… sure, rough edges, but man some area’s look awsome. (#notmyhomeyetthough)

Kindest Regards,

Yes, some great similarities between Meigs and Billy Bishop! The Dash eights are very small in the video. You really have to be looking for them. Cheers and blue skies!

Strangely, if I take a screenshot and load it into Lightroom then ask LR to automatically adjust the white balance the colour ends up being far more realistic. As flown, the colour balance seems a little cold and a little light at the red end of the spectrum

I know! I have no idea of the cost in performance if you had to apply this in real-time but the result would be SO much better.

Hi,

Clearly well planned and great editing. Pleasure to watch.

Thanks for taking the time to do this.

that’s awesome! well done

Trees look large and 3D in a real aircraft. The latest update to me increased the realism in scenery. Lots of residential areas are covered in trees. Look at real Cessna flight vids. If anything the density needs an increase

It seems that personal preference plays a big part in how one interprets the realism. Regardless of some of the shortfalls, this new version is truly remarkable in realism and for me an incredible tool for practicing VFR in new locations.

To me, confirmed…a massive scenery update across the US! Everyone, please notice…I’m not trying to be extra positive, but some praise is due between CTD’s, terrain spikes, and all. Look closely at the landscape…take a flight low and slow in C152 over Ocean City Md…look at the coastlines now…it looks like a real shoreline…look at the fields, tree density, and details that were missing before. Trees look like they have height now. Truly an upgrade. Does anyone agree? Even the water is much better, some masking now!

Just waiting for those water masks in the Caribbean!
