#REALHD - Improve 3rd party aircrafts by providing visual scanned aircraft models/audio modules to developers as market opportunity for Microsobo

Why are many aircraft from smaller developers often LOOK inferior compared to the quality of Microsobo’s standard aircraft?

Isn’t it a simple difference in technology when we are talking visual quality?
Microsobo and their process of scanning aircraft (with a special moving HD camera, no pictures → real 3D scans) is far superior then any manual process ever could be.

Third party developers don’t have access to that sophisticated technology… I am wondering why they have developed that technique to only use it for the standard planes, as it is far superior to anything else.

Wouldn’t it be a sustainable/reasonable approach to let Microsobo do it’s visual magic and scan aircraft and provide that visual hull for an % of sales to the developers?
We give you the visuals and take in return 10-20% margin (e.g) of all sales made on store exclusiv… Now the third parties can concentrate on giving that hulls the breath of life!

Microsobo can generate continued revenue (that supports the sim at the end) and push the ingame store at the same time!

The same applies to audio models, how many folks have that equipment?
The community will get way better looking aircraft and often several models(from multiple developers) from a type as the overall development process is easier for 3rd party devs without the need to care about visuals/audio…

#REALHD for the community!
Thanks guys/gals!

Looking e.g. at the various DR400 model errors and the wrong shape of the A320 FCU panel I doubt that Asobo made good use of its expensive equipment.

I wouldn’t buy a model from them.

While it makes sense that the Asobo art dept might buy and use their own hand held scanner to improve their workflow they already have a job creating assets for the base game and there are companies that specialize in 3d scanning as a service who would do the job much better. (and with much better equipment than a simple hand held scanner)

I think the biggest challenge though is access to the aircraft. Want to recreate a rare vintage aeroplanes? There may only be a couple of them in the world which are in good enough condition to make scanning worthwhile and these may be on the other side of the world.
Other aircraft may have restricted access etc.
