Thanks for reminding about that, I found the Q&A where Seb was talking about the ‘‘big CFD’’ project.

Rewatching it, he perfectly describes our complaining points 
- current system only works locally
- airflow of thermals doesn’t create any turbulence/ vortices on the side
- no down draft connection caused by up drafts / airmass combination
Solution:
- 20km big CFD (simular to aircraft CFD) currently in research (May 25, 2022),
which also goes pretty high - should manage, improve atmospheric airflow
- improves up/down drafts, wind
- adds local wind effects you don’t get from live weather
The Big CFD in combination with the newly implemented ‘‘no up/down draft limit’’ could really open the door for ‘realistic dangerous weather simulation’ 
But sadly they didn’t mentioned anything about it since almost a year now.
Edit: at the end Seb said about the 20km CFD:
Simupdate 11 maybe… but not 10.
Meanwhile we are at Simupdate 12…
