One area I’d love to see enhanced in Microsoft Flight Simulator is winter operations, specifically the ability to simulate full winter contamination on aircraft. It would be fantastic if planes could experience real-time accumulation of snow and ice while parked at the gate or on the ground, gradually covering the airframe. (Building on what 2020 already offered)
Pilots need to manage de-icing procedures before takeoff, allowing us to interact with ground de-icing equipment and factor in ice and snow accumulation impacts on lift and control.
This contamination system should be freely accessbile for 3rd party developers to integrate their products, such as GSX with their ground handling and de-icing addons that could realistically remove these winter contaminants as is done in real life.
It could perhaps be done in a similar way as dynamic wear and tear has been done for 2024?
I think its far to say that 2020 is going to fast become the fs9 vs fsx and its going to become a very lonely outpost for the most dieheart supporters to fly the lonely “retro” flag…
As much as the developers say that “we will continue to support 2020…” the moment they see more than 3/4 downloading 24…
2020 will rightly become the after thought and a nightmare that they’d be more than too happy to wake up from…
Amazing game and a massive step up from fsx…
