Hi! I wanted to share with you an addon i’ve been working on for the past few months to enhance the night environment of FS2024. It uses real OSM data to map every light to a light in FS2024. It features different lamp types depending on the type of road and different densities of lights. I’ve made a few countries and some free addons. WOW! These are great! Everyone should try the Los Angeles file at Flightsim.to My biggest all time gripe with MSFS 2024 is the lousy night lights.. this goes a LONG way to improve the visuals. Great work, and no noted performance issues at all.
I actually think the night lighting in msfs24 looks amazing. What about it does not look good to you?
The light sources are too large and do not evenly recede away to the horizon. Also the colors repeat in a way where you can see too many unrealistic “patterns”. Also one color (orange) is splashed everywhere. I’m running 3 monitors at 4k and it looks cheesy. This mod has really given night lights a better realistic look. Have you tried it?
PS. I started with X-Plane a long time ago and the night lighting was incredible. MS has never reached that level. I just don’t believe they think it’s important sadly. But this Mod shows it CAN be greatly improved.
Light dots are too large, and grow in size when the camera isn’t moving.
