I purchased the Plymouth Sound addon from RealVFR back in March. I had to reinstall my computer, so I attempted to redownload the addon. The link in the original email did not work anymore. When attempting to email the owner for support, the email came back stating that the email address was no longer in service. The RealVFR site is still up, and they are still selling the addon. So I thought maybe he/she just changed their internet provider. So I attempted to purchase the Plymouth addon again, hoping this time I would get a correct download link and a correct support email address. I got the download email, but the download link has only http:// as the address. No domain and no file name. The email address that it was sent from, THAT email address is also no longer in service.
I am looking for support contact for the RealVFR addons. If anyone knows the correct email address please let me know. But for now, purchasing this addon, even though the vendor site is still up, the purchase piece is broken. You will pay through Paypal but not get a valid download link.
Thanks. I gave that a try. They removed my comment within 10 minutes. They didn’t comment. They didn’t email me. I still have no valid contact information. I’m not sure what to do at this point.
I would also take contact with PayPal with this info (and proof) to get your money back from the purchase. They are very forthcoming with this kind of stuff!
As an update, they finally did update the download so that it worked. But they never sent me an email or replied in any way. The only reason I know they fixed it was because days later, I tried it again. Things are working now.
Hi, this is Rich from RealVFR. I’m sorry to hear that you had trouble with support. Hope you all good now. I don’t think we have had any probs with our email out of service. Very strange. Support is - info@realvfr.com
This is a very interesting topic. I also had RealVFR ‘Plymouth Sound and City’ and found that there was no one available from RealVFR to reply to my email after taking in the interest of their work. I sent a few of them to try and get his attention, but to no avail. However, the thing is, I did contact Paypal due to RealVFR lack of support and I got my money back. Strange as it is, tonight, I have had an email about that purchase to say that it has been updated, it’s strange as this goes to show that the developer hadn’t noticed the emails coming in for his work, but will send one out months down the line that his work has been updated. Of course, I no longer own the software as I deleted and uninstalled it last year. As we are talking about this topic, there is no ‘Piper’s Airfield’ on the coast of Plymouth, England, it’s just a normal field, it has never been known as an airfield. Yet there was an airport (EGHD) north of the city for which was closed down by a property developer who ran it into the ground and made an excuse to say that it wasn’t viable for aviation any more, all because they want to build on it and had leased it from Plymouth City Council and were told to keep it running as an airport. There are a small group called FlyPlymouth who are willing to try and get it reopened again. Next year will be the final year for the authorities/government to decide if the airport can be reopened again or used for housing. Personally, as I live in the area, I would love it to reopened, though, I wouldn’t hold my breath. (I hope that this subject is allowed on here as I am talking about the real world other than the simulator. If any moderator wishes to remove my post, that’s fine and I will apologize if this comment isn’t allowed.) Many thanks!
Very interesting thread. I was about to purchase Plymouth from RealVFR as it is my home city. They appear a bit untrustworthy so maybe I will give it a miss. Any alternatives for an improvement to Plymouth scenery.
