Either C172, but the G1000 is a lot easier to learn to fly because of the all-encompassing glass cockpit.

The default Cessna 172 or Kodiak 100 payware is very good

You could check out the Arrow and Warrior from Jusf Flight, they currently have a “pick and mix” sale on over Easter so you could get some savings if you want to get more than one.

Cessna 172 is perfect for learn to fly,
with more than 44,000 units sell it’s the world most popular training plane
I recomended the G1000 glass version :sunglasses:

I agree with others about the C172 G1000. The devs have been working a lot to improve it for the upcoming SU9 as well. Grab the free Working Title G1000 NXi from the marketplace and it gets even better.

Try the default TBM it’s really awesome with that tbm performance mod

For what purpose? As basic trainer I would stay away from anything with a glass cockpit, it sure looks fancy but it’s way harder to transition from glass to something conventional later than vice versa. Also VFR navigation becomes a piece of cake with these large moving maps, same as learning to fly IFR by following the magenta line…

I’m gonna throw a wild card in and say the Quickie Dragonfly. Small, Challenging and has all the strengths of VFR flying and equipped for IFR if needed. On par sort of with the lower end Lancairs so unexpectedly fast, IMO, an overachiever to which I should spend more time with.

C172. Doesn’t matter traditional round dial “steam” gauges or G1000. It’s one of the defacto training aircraft. Once you do go to a G1000 or glass setup, you are unlikely to go back so choose your starting point with the idea to move up, not back.

Stock, I would say c152.

Payware. Kodiak 100 or Just Flight Warrior II

I also highly recommend the Cessna Citation, it is great fun and it can easily by learned plus you can get to many cool places with it’s range

If you are looking for a 3rd Party aircraft that won’t cost too much, look no further than the newly released RV-14 by SWS. They’re the same folks who gave us the Kodiak, and they are very involved with the community.

It is a riot to fly; it is fast and maneuverable, will take either of the GTN750 options out there (also has a “built-in” option) and lands very well. Visibility is outstanding.

The Embraer EMB 110 and B2 Islander are also great marketplace aircraft due to the fact that they are very easy to learn, the Islander I think was the easiest to learn with the old school gauge cockpit but I use the Logitech usb autopilot panel because it’s very easy not sure what your setup is though but without using the Logitech panel the Embraer is the easiest

I recently fell in love with the Diamond DA52 in terms of “fun to fly”. It is easy to fly, has two engines, full autopilot and a decend range.

(And for me personally, I dont have to set up all my peripherals to enjoy it. I can just use the default stuff thats already on my desk. Come to think of it, this may be the main reason I have enjoyed this little bird recently.)
