So I’ve been flying around a lot lately in the A320 and I am looking to experience scenic approaches with spectacular views that I can do on the Airbus. I’ve already done some popular ones like London City, Queenstown, Newark, Rio, and Paro approaches… Any other amazing ones that you can recommend? If there is a specific runway approach let me know as well!
If you like challenges try Toncontin (MHTG) in Honduras. It is considered one of the most dangerous airports in the world due to the mountains and the rather short runway. To do this you have to study the approach charts carefully.
LPMA for sure - really tricky approach I did in a full motion A320 sim. Usually you go into RW 05 without ILS straight out of a right curve without much time to stabilize the aircraft it really feels like flying straight into terrain before the curve.
Other ones I like are:
LFMN 04L and GCTS RW 07, going around Tenerife
LFKJ Rwy 20 (RNAV or circle to land). Very scenic with rocky mountains and beautiful beaches. Also quite thrilling because you have to fly towards a huge wall of rock before the final turn.
