Reinstall - It acted weird

All - Reset PC back to OEM for another reason than MSFS, in that process, everything on C & D are erased, it then reformats both drives and then reinstalls the OS Windows 10, and formats D.

So I got system back to my desired state, and last but not least Reinstall MSFS, yeah the X-Box part first, it puts icon for game in Start Menu, I put it on taskbar and then start the download, get to 3% and pause it, then copy my backup from another place to the default directory on C:. So far all is well. That takes over hour. Then open the game and it wants to download the whole thing again, and the files are there, I checked. The only reason I can come up with is an update came out, which I did not get, and my “old files” have mostly all been overwritten with new stuff.

The reinstall took the better part of a day, best DL speed was 25 or so MBs, which is way less than half of my ISP plan. Once that is done, I get error “Disc is full, try another place”, and now do not remember what I did to clear that, oh, I just spent another day downloading the game in it’s entirety. I HATE THIS DELIVERY METHOD, and my go to plan failed this time as well (my copy backup).

Once made sure game would start, open, and tried practice flight to make sure, I then reinstalled DC Designs F-14 and PMDG’s 737. F-14 flies fine, figured ok, got to reset all the defaults on PMDG bird, but no, somehow the game saved those as well.

This whole reinstall was just not like normal. At least it kept my Flight Devices, or that is 3 days of resetting and configuring those. Anyone else have any weird install issues lately?
