RELEASE: MilViz Corsair for MSFS

I got the corsair last week and I must I am really enjoying it. Once you realize you need to lock the tail wheel for TO and landing it helps a bunch. Something weird though, last night I noticed that I am getting around 20FPS in the corsair but 60FPS with all the other planes (Radeon 6700XT, 2560*1080, High settings). Cutting the Corsair 's engine in flight (not recommended) and boom I sudenly get 60FPS! So it looks like the propeller animation might be causing the drop, at least on my Radeon GFX card. Could also be a driver bug. Anyone else experiencing this?

How is everyone finding fuel consumption? At 48 manifold pressure, 2550RPM, 10k feet, I’m using 560ish gallons per hour. Per the PMS50 GTN750. And verified with my knowledge of numbers. At 305kt airspeed/376GS. We’re looking at 1100-1200NM(ish) just on the 180 gallon main tank. That seems incredibly effiecient.

Anyway. I love the Corsair. When people wonder what I am spending so much time doing, I show them the Corsair.

Not seeing FPS drop with the prop anymore. Looks like it was just a temporal glitch…

Sorry if this has already been asked, but will this ever make the journey to the xbox?

Unfortunately, until MS/Asobo fix the problem (this is a known bug), no product that uses WASM will be able to go on the Xbox.

So, we’re all just going to have to wait.

It’s hard to find update notes for this plane, has it had any recent updates to add the new prop and CFD simulation to the flight model? And if not does anyone know if that’s planned?

No new updates so far as I know, though last I checked several months ago on the Milviz forums, they do expect to do at least one more update at some point this year but it’s not clear why. I think I saw a comment that at least the prop disc animation will be corrected/improved. It would be great if they also add the new prop physics and propwash simulation as well.

Ok, thanks. I’ll wait for that update then I might buy it.

The new prop stuff is under consideration.

The prop animation has been fixed.

We will be doing a service pack on this after the 310 is released.

Whenever I turn off the engine by lowering the mixture, the tailwheel always collapse

That’s very strange. Please try reinstalling the product…

Thank you for your reply. I will try reinstalling tonight.

Ready for a Corsair Movie! Not going to be overly critical about realism, it is a movie
I don’t need much of an excuse to fly my MilViz Corsair on any given week.

I know the story without even watching the trailer. Those two had an amazing friendship and the bravery and devotion was incredible to fathom. Hopefully the movie does the true story justice.

I’m going to gobble up every single aviation movie that is halfway decently made, including this one. I don’t watch movies as documentaries. They are entertainment where the drama and the emotional impact always has to take precedent over realism.

I really like Pearl Harbor, Red Tails and Flyboys, for example, even though all three are very inaccurate. Also, Jonathan Majors, as always, will bring an excellent performance to this, so on that note alone it’s going to be awesome!

Been a while since I last flew this. Still a great bird! Would be nice if MilViz updated the gunsight so it’s a properly collimated thing instead of the weird hovering out in front of the plane workaround they used before Asobo added in proper support for collimated sights a few updates back.

Anyway that minor gripe aside I’m still having a blast flying this beast.

Interesting screenshot. I thought that the five-bladed prop animation had been fixed. I could be wrong though, I haven’t flown the Corsair for a little while.

We’ve not done the fix yet. End of June or thereabouts

Late to the party but I have an excuse - I only switched from Xbox to a PC a few weeks ago.

Just picked this beauty up yesterday and got to download it today. Big smiles all around.

Hey there, I purchased the Corsair a few days ago, I’m totally loving it, what an iconic bird!

However I have a few issues with it, and I wonder if it’s just on my end (my PC is quite old), or if it’s MSFS who sort of broke the airplane with its updates:

The flight models behave in a weird way sometimes, I got it on modern with all assists off, and the plane tends to counter my roll input on its own unless I push the stick hard. EDIT: FIXED, the sim put the yoke assits back on …
Also, often when I do some high G turns or fly in turbulences above mountains, the whole plane’s FM stutters/rolls back. EDIT: Happens with other planes too… Related to FSRealistic…
Rudder is also quite weird since I need to put around 50% of it to actually start feeling it, lower than that and it feels too gentle, again maybe that’s how the real plane behave but seeing how much deflection the rudder has around 40% I think it’s buggued.

Also, I believe this is because MSFS’s temp modelisation is quite off but, when flying slick on cruise power, the CYL. TEMP goes down to almost 0 after a while, and oil temp seems relatively low, having all the cooling flaps closed.
I also find that the airplane warms up very very fast on cold & dark startups, but maybe that’s the way the real one behave.
The trims are very sensitive, especially the elevator one.
Nav Lights are bugged on my end as well, they work but are not placed correctly (they’re on the small round cap at both wings end, just above the ailerons), I suspect it’s one of my mods tho, I haven’t tested without it yet since it’s not that bad.

Besides, the aircraft is amazing, great sounds, great modeling, even with the bugs I mentioned I keep flying it!
Thanks and I hope we’ll get the new update soon, fly safe! o7
