Regardless if Asobo did it wrong or not, flying the plane once before release must reveal the glitch. I cannot understand that no one would see that.
Okay… So this is definitely a new one… I’ve been in the air now about 30ish mins, all the electrics have died! Before you ask, I did remember the alternator and the gauge IS showing current! In the last builds this kept all my electrics running for flights as long as 2+ hrs! As you would expect it too… (from starting cold&dark btw)
Something with the new electrical system modifications done with this update (1.2) has seemingly broken something else…
Not sure what’s going on here but, it isn’t something fixable with a key assignment any more… I tried turning things off and on but to no avail. The gauge shows current but I have no electricity… It’s an odd one
Do the bush tires have any impact on the plane behavior when landing or is that purely visual?
I am holding off on this one and C170 and Yak-18t for the same reasons… waiting for the planes to be fixed.
Oh, my! Such a sweet baby! Next in my list)
PS
pls, stop dragging lil Spity at every related to AH topic, pls!
I have been trying out v1.1 this morning and have to say that I have a number of issues with it. However, I received and e-mail a short while ago to tell me that v1.2 has been released.
Downloaded and installed.
For those who don’t know yet, reaching down towards the bottom of the pilot’s door brings up a ‘Change Gear Type’ box and by clicking on it you can change between spats, no spats and bush tyres.
You can also open the pilot’s door and click directly on the wheel to get the same message.
Found this a little strange as I chose the type of C-140 I wanted to fly from the Aircraft box at the top left hand side of the Welcome menu and then by clicking on Liveries. Although there is confusion here because clicking on ‘clean blue and white’ without spats loads a clean blue and white with spats ?? even though that is not shown as an option!
Starting from cold and dark, switching on the Battery Master moves the pointer from the midway position to 0 and it does not come back to life.
Mixture control has now been reversed and puhed in gives full, rich.
Primer control still gives second or ‘double’ primer sound when operated.
It seems to me that the engine needs to be running at about 1100 rpm to move the aircraft and when taxiing, reducing power to minimum 558 rpm doesn’t quite seem to slow the aircraft much. She will run for quite a way on 555 rpm!
Holding her on the brakes and increasing the throttle, the revs only seem to get up to about 1200 rpm - no matter what position my Thrustmaster is indicating.
The navigation lights are still to be found at about 3/4 of the way down the side of the aircraft.
Spawning from an active runway still does not allow me to bring up rpm to much over 2000.
Have manage to do a ‘touch and go’ landing but the take-off power seemed much reduced and I barely managed to clear trees! The airspeed is really low.
I’m confused. Most of this will turn out to be my fault but at the moment I’m struggling to enjoy this new product.
Sorry but you’re not alone. I’m getting just 2000 rpm at full throttle on v1.1 or 1.2. Bravo throttle reads full throttle axis in my Simple Single profile, but only 2000 rpm in the cockpit. Other problems as you described.
I haven’t got the latest update from Orbx yet but I hoped the floating nav lights wld have been fixed!
I am very disappointed with this latest “update”. It has made everything much worse for me.
-
The interior lights no longer function and the taxi and landing lights bleed through the cockpit on the ground.
-
The autopilot and electrics just cut out about 20-30 mins in to a flight, crashing the plane if using a/p.
-
The climb power and rpm seems totally off now.
-
NAV lights are now trailing behind the aircraft.
Really poor to be honest, at least with the v1.0 it was functional! I was thoroughly enjoying this aircraft until now.
In its current state I couldn’t recommend anyone purchase it, hope it gets fixed!
Three developers I’ll buy from on Day One:
PMDG
MilViz
A2A
All others get a “wait and see.”
Too quick to push these out, and it seems like a money grab to me.
Not Just Flight?
For me it’s more:
PMDG
Just Flight
Milviz
A2A
Leonardo
Flysimware
I am puzzled by the work AH is doing here. If we can’t get these basics right, I am horrified to think what issues the DC-3 will have, considering we are having basic things going very wrong in a bloody single engine Cessna.
The a/p they put in really does appear very broken. There is not even a switch to turn it off and on! It has to be done through a key or switch on your yoke.
Engaging vs mode nosedived the aircraft.
I’d rather NOT have the AP in this than one as it exists. I have yet to try the 1.2 version but in 1.1 all the annunciation was on when it shouldn’t be and yeah. There is not even a cockpit button to activate it which kills immersion.
Totally agree - the whole way it has been implemented is really weird.
They put an autopilot in a Cessna 140? And people use it?
Electrical bug sounds identical to what happens with the Carenado 170. Does it still happen if you use the default alternator control alt+a?
Hate to pile on, but as a former C140 owner, this was a beautiful plane in FSX-SE from AH and sounded great. The conversion to MSFS is killing its charm.
Yeah they did… I tested it, but it’s not something I’d use. Still, if you DID put an AP in a C140, maybe having it work correctly would be a thing.
Well - I think the rapid attempts to fix it and expand to the float version based on feedback is commendable.
I think they’ll get there. This is their first MSFS release so I am going to cut em some slack.
That said the fixes need to actually fix stuff.
Bazzar has said that the AP and GPS are only there for folks who want them. Granted that doesn’t mean they don’t need to work properly - I’m just seeing too much criticism about them being included. Don’t want them? Don’t use them.
Since the wheeled versions can be selected or changed in the sim I don’t think it matters much what the thumbnails show. More like a list of available options now than a selector.
Looking at YouTube vids reveals that the actual C 140 Is loud when the engine is working hard.
As far as sound files go I’m way more interested in having a radio I can hear.
The thing that I am most discouraged by however is the spin prop animation fix.
Simply reducing the available RPM to stop the problem is lazy. That motor should give us 2300 RPM - period.
I get it that MSFS is different from the older sims these legacy developers are used to.
On top of that - since MSFS is still in development - it will be different to itself over time and that makes things even more dicey.
So for me at this point the essential factor for evaluating a new product from a legacy developer is their participation in the forums and willingness to make corrections.
