[RELEASED] Aeroplane Heaven Spitfire Mk1

Just tested this Spit and I found it amazing and a fantastic MK-I indeed!

I’m sure not a new issue, but why having a fixed pitch prop system, diving or climbing engine sound seems following airspeed instead of remaining more/leass linked to throttle position and of course constant speed prop governor regulation system?

Diving or accelerating the aircraft, makes the engine noise as if it was overspeeding, but keeping an eye on Rpm indicator, Rpm remain cosntant and perfectly regulated, e.g. on 2600…

I was thinking that on AH P-51 this does not happen, as well as on all other constant speed prop aicraft..for this my curiosity.

Thanks and again huge congrats to AH for this beautiful Spit!

Just installed the latest update. When I switch to modern panel I see… nothing

What is that on the left wing? I think I might have to have a look into the manual… this bird stood too long in the Hangar.

Have the sounds been updated in this version? If so, how do they sound? Thanks

hard to tell without direct comparison. I might have to install the older version again for comparing. Doesn’t sound bad to me.

I saw on the comments on FB about the Chippy that they had a new update coming out with new sounds, not sure if this is the one, I see sim market has v1.6 for this, ORBX still shows v1.5.24, so I guess they released an update today?

It’s the pilot’s seat parachute.
During WWII, keeping it like that allowed to dry it of sweat and it was quicker to wear.
(If it was not raining, it was in England  )

The sounds have been updated with the new version 1.6
I did a short “before” (version 1.5.24)… Aeroplane Heaven Spitfire Mk1a v1.5.24 - YouTube
and “after” (version 1.6)… Aeroplane Heaven Spitfire MK1a v1.6 - YouTube

Thanks for the comparison!

I checked against a good “real in cockpit” video and, interestingly, the sounds there seem to be a cross between the “before and after”. The “after” external sounds are spot on, while the “after” cockpit engine sounds are just a bit muted and have the fantastic “rumble”, but are missing a bit of the prop sound.

I’m sure there will be arguments as to which is better!

To get an authentic real sound you need to place the microphone inside a genuine WWII flying helmet wrapped in a silk scarf.

Yes, and given that POV, the new sounds might actually be spot on too! They have that “muffled” quality

Agree 100%. AH did the same thing with the Chipmunk manual. Impossible to print properly. They need to scrap this format and provide something more printer friendly.

hi, i have this blank screen too, did you solve it?

also, my landing light switches dont work?

Thanks

That also because runnning to the plane with the chute banging against your legs is difficult. Spitfire pilot runs to his plane and dons parachute.

As per April 23rd, 2025 an update to vers 1.7.0 is available on Orbx

Out on SimMarket as well with these release notes:

The Prototype, MK1 and MK1A are now available on the 2020 marketplace

Im really happy they are finally available on Xbox

Lack in this sphere, kept me off thier warbirds long time (p46, p40 etc) but this one seems a progress, overheating and overstress? hm

Does the package include the Mk1A package that was previously available by itself? I want to buy the Mk1A from the Marketplace, but it is unclear if the early package replaces the Mk1A package or if ithe complete Mk1A package is included in this one. Unclear in the sense that the website only says the package includes 5 liveries and doesn’t mention the Mk1A package liveries are included.

EDIT: In my skepticism/distrust of unclear marketing these days, it is difficult for me to believe and accept what is not made explicitly clear.
