[Released] Black Square Baron and Bonanza Professional

I like that idea!

Got the bundle for 2020 and just a quick message to say that after an initial quick 25 min scoot around in the Baron, that the flight model is utterly delightful and that the view from inside is much better than the Duke, where you tend to have a face full of panel and engines. Thoroughly enjoyable to operate and I look forward to many happy hours in this one.

Parked the Baron P and shut down after a flight yesterday and I was surprised to see the propellers windmilling as if the engines were turbines. Left it for a few minutes but no change. Checked the wind and I had a 25kt tailwind. I wouldn’t expect that to turn over a couple of piston engines.

Another small issue. Switching the heater fan on doesn’t change the heater fan text on the EFB Electrics page green. The cabin page showed it spinning though.

Really enjoying the Baron/Bonanza package.

Did you check for any failure on the heater blower? Mine turns green when on.

edit: it’s automatically disabled when retracting the landing gear, as per the manual. Where you using it while in air?

I had the same happen to me. Shut down, heavy tailwind, props kept spinning. SU4 on PC, if that matters.

Yes I was airborne. Missed that in the manual but I’m pretty sure the animation showed it spinning which would be wrong if it’s supposed to be disabled. I’ll check again next flight.

I did check but no failure. They do make it more interesting. Had two so far. Engine instruments and cabin door latch on separate flights.

Just checked again. I was confused by the labelling on the EFB Cabin page. There’s a Heater Blower indicated that is actually controlled by the Heater switch. The Heater Blower switch operates the supplemental fan in the Ram Air intake which is only needed on the ground so, as you said, is inhibited with the gear up.

Thanks

Maybe not the right category for this, but I thought I’d share one of the better full flight videos I’ve seen lately - this one by Captain Gonzo features the Bonanza Pro A36TC on an IFR flight from Daytona to Key West.

In the external view, at certain angles, the sound of the props is so realistic that I feel like I’d lose a finger if I touched my monitor, it’s that good. Boris is the man!
