[Released] Bluesky Hangar Grumman AA5

Hello everyone! I’m sorry for my absence, just popped in to give a quick update.

Firstly, about MS Marketplace: unfortunately, I have no idea when it’ll be available for sale there. The airplane has been submitted for approval almost 2 months ago, and so far no response whatsoever. I wish I had better news regarding this, but it’s pretty much “it’ll be there whenever it gets there”. It’s completely out of my hands at this point. I have no further info on this. Everything has been done on my end (and yes - the airplane will be 100% career compatible), it’s really up to the MS Marketplace people to review and approve or give feedback on what to fix. Other online marketplaces should follow shortly after this release.

Now, regarding the next update - still no release date for now - I’ll get a small list below:

DONE:

  • Several fixes to the exterior model like adding missing bolts, stall tabs and stall strips, trim tabs and aileron counter-weights;
  • New livery for the Traveler (in honor of @RoosTaZA for all of his help and amazing work on the new flight dynamics, thank you once again!)
  • Traveler now has a MPH specific speedometer;
  • Completely remade normal maps (still not sure on how I feel about them, might revert back to the release version, I’ll post some comparison shots soon);
  • Stall warning buzzer;
  • General small modelling/mapping issues fixed, too small to be worth mentioning in detail.

WIP:

  • New flight model (still tuning)

TO DO:

  • Add missing key assignments to the Century-1 autopilot;
  • Modify Century-1 clickspots;
  • GTS-750 integration;

@Editer @Brooklynguy7607 Yes, indeed the Century-1 is “sort of” capable of following a GPS track, but not in the configuration present in the simulator. The Century-1 is only capable of tracking a needle from an instrument, regardless of the source. So, like @Brooklynguy7607 said, if an HSI capable of reading the GPS track was installed in this plane, the Century-1 would be able to track it. But as it is currently, the autopilot is only capable of following the needles in the VOR instruments, since the panel configurations in sim only feature a very basic heading indicator. Regarding the clickspots, I’ll adjust them and make them much bigger, as I too found it to be quite annoying to adjust the knobs. Maybe I’ll also make the clickspot to toggle modes be below the actual knob for convenience? I’ll experiment with this. Also, I’ll add the relevant keybinds to the configuration (sorry, I completely missed this) for convenience. :slightly_smiling_face:

@JPVann9916 Glad to hear you are enjoying the aircraft!

@Decimator33 I’ll take a look at this and fix it for the next update, thanks!

@DAQUA3828 Sorry, I have no idea when it’ll be available, unfortunately. I have no further information on this.

Dear @BlueSky6514, first of all, thank you for this amazing addon! Tiger quickly became my favorite traveling machine, finally feeling inspired about flying again!

I noticed that heading indicator adjustment knob doesn’t work in IFR configuration with GNS 430, not sure if it only doesn’t work on my machine or in this specific configuration. Can you please check it out?

Thanks a lot!

@BlueSky6514 another thing I noticed is that when I track radial (flying FROM VOR) the autopilot usually takes a sharp turn and the aircraft dives into the ground, however tracking TO VOR works fine. Am I doing something wrong?

ps. Sorry about flooding - the slip ball also behaves kind of strange. For example, during a turn it briefly slides sideways and then returns to the middle. I think we should fire it and get a new one :sweat_smile:

@RoosTaZA I have a question, is map light/dome light hardwired to the battery in the real aircraft?

I have accidently drained the battery that way. Even when the master switch is off, the map/dome light works. Very easy to accidentally flip the switch while getting in/out of the aircraft.

Been monitoring this thread for some time (/plays “Brass Bonanza” again), and… Okay, I’m in. Clearly a beloved aircraft (and I like Grumman in general - straight outta Bethpage!), people loving it in the sim, responsive dev who deserves to be supported… Yep. I’m in. I will bankrupt myself with GA planes or die trying, I guess.

Woohoo! Go Long Island!

And I’m back. 1:45 Arizona flight from Page to Chandler Chandler to Page in the Traveler. Two thumbs up; will fly again.

Still not on Marketplace :anguished_face:

lets kindly contact MS and remind them about that. Ill do the same.
