[RELEASED] Daedalus BS214 for MSFS 2020 (Compatible with MSFS 2024)

Yes, I am on SU1 beta version. Tried without mods and have the same problem. The brightness adapts when I change the time but stays too bright at night, as you can see in the screenshot.
I only have the issue with this plane.

Daedalus BS214 updated to v0.1.2

Changelog v0.1.2:

  • Flight Model: Fixed the bug that prevented asymmetrical yaw from functioning properly during single-engine flight in the MSFS2024 edition.

Hi @ArantisAir, no fix for the EFB issue? I would like to be able to fly at night.

Hi, this is an SU1 beta issue as in v1.2.11.0 works fine. We will need to wait for the SU1 release to see if Asobo addresses this issue. Please be patient.

Ok, thanks. I wonder why all the other planes have no problem though.

Ok, thanks. I wonder why all the other planes have no problem though.

Because they are native MSFS2024 planes and EFB is a MSFS2024 native sim attachment.
Daedalus BS214 is a MSFS2020 aircraft. Somehow the SU1 beta broke the EFB auto brightness adjustment for MSFS2020 planes.
Normally MSFS2024 sim attachments are not supposed to be compatible with MSFS2020 planes. However EFB is working fine in v1.2.11.0 (thatā€™s why we integrated it to VC, as an extra feature), unfortunately not in SU1 Beta 1.3xx.
We submitted a bug report in the dev support forums and are waiting for the Asobo developers to fix the issue, if possible.

Sorry, but no. Iā€™m using 5 or 6 more MSFS 2020 planes in 2024 and none of them have this problem. Only this one.
The other planes donā€™t have the EFB attached to the panel though, perhaps the problem is just when it is attached to the panel? When I press the shortcut button to open the EFB and it gets detached from the stand the brightness is normal. If that is the case you could make an option to close it completely (or remove it) until this is fixed.
But I can wait until SU1 is out to see if it gets fixed though.
Thanks.

perhaps the problem is just when it is attached to the panel?

Yes, the issue affects only the VC (Virtual Cockpit) integration.

Until the issue is fixed in one way or another, a temporary solution is to hide the VC EFB while flying at night by pressing the button in the upper right corner.

Oh, didnā€™t know there was already a button to hide it, itā€™s hard to see from the pilot position. Great, Iā€™ll hide it when flying at night until the issue is fixed.
Thanks.

Daedalus BS214 updated to v0.1.3

Changelog v0.1.3:

  • 3D Model: Removed the default EFB sim attachment VC integration in the MSFS2024 compatible edition. Unfortunately, MSFS2024 SU1 has discontinued compatibility with sim attachment integrations for MSFS2020 aircraft. Please note that the default EFB is always available and accessible from the toolbar.

I donā€™t think I like this ā€œsolutionā€. I prefer to have it as before and remove it if I fly at night so it doesnā€™t blind me. Guess Iā€™m not updating.

We are working on a solution by creating a custom MSFS2024 sim attachment to bypass the ambient light sensor issue. Hopefully, if everything goes well, it will be available in our next update.
