[RELEASED] DoubleEnder | Got Friends

I think we need a good new name for this category of aircraft. How about BushTech

The DoubleEnder is clearly a master in the art of Bushido.

I dunno, what’s wrong with Bush Plane?

http://www.bushplanedesign.com/ even calls it “Redefining the modern Bush Plane”

The DoubleEnder concept came to existence after spending over a decade bush flying in Africa and Alaska. This is where it was born, and it was bred to be the ultimate platform for flying in a wild and remote environment, one where safety, performance, and visibility are all extremely crucial. It is in some sort an evolution, a next step towards redefining the modern bush plane.

If anything I’d call it an experimental bush plane, but to some degree bush planes have always been experimental until perhaps they become an “officially produced” bush variant, like the Beaver, or STOL workhorses of Air America.

Sorry to be a debbie downer, but we already have so many categories, do we really need more, especially when it was explicitely developed for this category?

Come on man, where’s your Aussie sense of humour hiding today?? :stuck_out_tongue:

It got beaten out of me in the Corsair thread:scream::wink:

Also, I keep looking at the Do J Wal for some reason. I should really pick that up, I still haven’t got it but I’m inspired to get it now since I have the others. I think I had flying boat fatigue when it came out, but now I see where DE got their inspiration from (and some others of that era like the great S.55) I think I need to try it!

Push/Pull wasn’t new, the first seems to be the Caproni Ca.1 (1914) - Wikipedia , and I guess if you want to land on water without floats you need to raise the motors up somehow but can you imagine the looks they must have got when someone first suggested putting the motors on top of the wings like that? Aircraft designers are crazy ■■■.

Of course I did!

Thank you GotFriends for another excellent, slighly different aircraft that I didn’t know I needed.

Anyone has a spare right window for this plane or are they sold separately?

Opened the window first time testing things in the cockpit, it probably blew off in flight after I forgot to close it lol.
(in other words how to reset this persistent damage? :grinning:)

Thanks for this great aircraft GotFriends :+1:

How about a new category called Ugly Planes.
In the last few months, there’s been Wilga, scrapyard monster and now the doubleender.
Personally I don’t care what they look like, they are fun to fly and they are different.

Hey Mike Fear! Glad to see you around and enjoying the DoubleEnder. Your top door is actually open in this picture and you can simply click the door handle to close the top door. At speeds above 20 knots the bottom door will close, however the top door will stay open regardless of speed to, of course, stick your lovely head out when desired

Cheers

Anyone debating this who likes GA and Bush flying needs to get it. Its very good quality for the money. Tons of system depth, flies awesome, great performance, amazing views
 So good in VR
Persistence. They ticked every box. I will be touring with this airplane now, no doubt.

My ‘Top Display’ is now reading on the Aircraft Configuration screen as PMS50 even though I only have the TDS unit installed.

You guys are amazing! :+1: :+1: :+1:
Presenting to us such a rare, licensed aircraft - have no words
Can’t wait to see it at the Marketplace!
Did you guys used factory CAD data? Modeling is outstanding judging by screenshots

Looks like there is a little issue with the new LOD. The camping equipment disappears when I move away from the aircraft just a little bit.

Also, some of the visibililty options (dirt, tie downs) don’t seem to be persistent between sessions. I gotta do some more testing on that. Are they saved by livery or for the whole aircraft, regardless of the chosen livery?

since the last update, I have no more power on the avionics, no more display in function, when I start with running engines at the runway
thanks for your feedback
 :joy:

Likely the state saving, combined with you running out of battery.

if you’re idling, the generators won’t work, increase rpm slightly until the red lights go off. You can also go into the maintenance page and ‘repair’ the battery.
