I brought this yesterday, and works beautifully, no problems.
Just took her for a spin. Performance still fine on my end as well. It’s just missing the pilot in FS2024.
While SU2 fixed the avatars in most planes, this one still has no pilot.
Understanding that Got Friends has lots of updates in the pipeline, not to mention new releases… I’d love to see a patch for the pilot, assuming that’s something that can be fixed relatively quickly (I have no idea if that’s the case). Speaking personally, I’m not in a hurry for other improvements since, pilot visibility aside, it works pretty nicely as it is.
You’re responding to a post from a year ago, in users using 2020. I’m going to imagine their issue was fixed long ago, and was due to something other than the airplane.
Which sim are you using it in?
It seems like you’re the only person experiencing this issue currently. Any chance you could give us some hints on what’s going on? Are you using any AI aircraft addons that inject traffic into your sim? Have you tried turning off all traffic? What is your system config?

I’ll need to check the f4f out again sometime soon as since disabling the rolling cache completely performance on my machine has improved considerably.
I’m having trouble getting the drop tanks to load in 2024. Am I doing something wrong? I can load them in the tablet, it says loaded successfully, then immediately sets fuel to 0 and they’re not showing.
You have to toggle the two switches on the right hand panel first to mount the empty tanks then fill them
Is this no longer available? I cannot find it on the Got Friends website and the link in the aforementioned post doesn’t list it there, either.
We still have it on our drive, if you need it. (tested and works in both 2020 / 2024)
Does anyone know to make the pilot visible? I thought clicking the harness did it but it doesn’t seem to having an affect? Even if started already running there isn’t a pilot visible in FS2020.
Perhaps it’s due to their use of a custom avatar? There’s been lots of issues with that in 2024… then again, you didn’t say if you’re using it in 2020 or 2024…
I can confirm, that in MSFS 2020, clicking on the seatbelt, does not make the pilot visable anymore as it used to be.

I don’t remember what the F4F used for a default pilot, but if I remember correctly, something was formatted wrong in the cfg controlling it. It probably worked once then broke with an update. If you don’t mind a quick file edit, you can overwrite the following lines in the aircraft.cfg.

Note: This was to fix the pilot missing in 2024, but it should work for your 2020 issue as well. If not, the issue is something else other than the pilot character.
Hmm, based on the update list, I would say I wouldn’t use the new update in 2020. They removed a lot of functionality to make it work in 2024, which is the purpose of the update.

We have added more 2020 and 2024 forward compatible features. The purpose of this update is to enhance the product further… that includes 2020 as it ironed out long standing bugs and added additional support for smoother animations, missing pilots, sound design enhancements and more.
Please update regardless of use in 2020 or 2024. This is a 2020 product at the end of the day. If we had to remove features, we would simply create two versions to alleviate that downgrade.
Howdy. I originally purchased Wildcat on xbox marketplace and have recently moved over to PC.
Is there anyway i can add the simulated weapons fire? Or will i have to re-purchase from your site directly?
Original version was 2020 abd and still wish to use in 2020 for some time yet.
