Thanks for the update! This plane is a blast to fly but I must ask, are there any plans to revisit the scaling of it? Currently the size of the external model is comparable to other small craft, but the pilot model is the size of a child when compared to a ground crew model. Thanks!

I agree that the model as it sits is very good - and also that there are one or two scaling issues as well as an odd seating arrangement for the pilot. The aviator should only just fit into the cockpit of this small and slender race plane, and not be positioned so far in front of the cockpit rear bulkhead. The extra bracing for the seat adds unnecessary weight as the rear bulkhead would already be braced to support the seat.
Not to mention all that wasted space.
See this YT video of the GeeBee Z and crew for example. Sure these are two different airframes - but the concept is identical. Small, close-fitting, and proportionate to the scale of the people who would fly them…if the R3 had ever flown that is

Is there any way we can get The Rocketeer model back? Was it a livery or a full-on like different model? The Rocketeer was half the reason i got the plane T_T

Thank you for this update. It’s transparency like this that goes a long way with customer trust and I’m thrilled to see the scaling is being addressed. I continue to have an absolute blast in the Gee Bee and the Wildcat will be an instant purchase from me!

I own the R3 and I love it - I especially appreciate that you all took an RC ‘concept’ plane and modeled it as a real world aircraft. AS it sits it is an example of the true benefits of a Flight Simulator like MSFS…to take experimental or so-called ‘what-if’ aircrafts and see them actually fly based not on a random set of parameters entirely - but within a structured atmospheric and aerodynamic model (such as it is to date).
To my view this is one of the underappreciated uses of a civilian flight sim like MSFS. Personally I hope to see way more of this kind of development - IE: Jetson - Personal Electric Aerial Vehicle (jetsonaero.com)
Seeing this Transparency Statement causes me to appreciate the Got Friends Development Group even more than I already did. Thank you for your commitment to your customers and Friends in the community! You’ve ‘Got Friends’ out here too

Alright Gee Bee fans, sad day, SU7 unfortunately broke the smoke switches and associated “Flap” system they were secretly working under.
This should be a quick fix, but in the mean time, we had to send a notice to Asobo to delay the In-Game/Xbox release. We apologize to everyone patiently waiting.

The Gee Bee R3 Special is now official on Xbox and PC Marketplace.
What a long time coming! Don’t forget that this version has a different naming structure. So if you are a livery artist, you will need to adjust your fallbacks.
Also, this new version removed the VR Sub-Model. If you would still like to fly in VR while we are working on the official VR Fix, please download the new VR Ready Edition on Flightsim.to.
