They have always struck me as being a very professional outfit setting a high standard whether as developers or as sellers of other devs’ products. I have been buying from them for years even as far back as FSX days. I have yet to hear any hint of sarcasm or bad attitude in their forum comments either. That goes a long way with me too.
Bae146 is more expensive than Fenix and the latter is the leader right now in terms of realism. Thankfully with the upcoming update Bae146 is getting closer to Fenix level.
At the moment the BAE 146 is on offer and about £10 less than the Fenix.
Not comparing both aircraft by the way. The Fenix is pretty awesome if your system can handle it. Just giving info.
The regular price is higher so my point stands. Saying that “nobody is even close to JF” is a pure fanboism, but it’s nice to see Mizunumagaijin admitted that.
This is an interesting observation.
In some ways, they just get on with it without much fanfare and that is refreshing.
Wow. Not trying to make a point here or argue against anything you have said. Just trying to give helpful info that the BAE 146 was currently cheaper in case anyone was on the fence.
Nothing more and Nothing less.
Does it mean that xbox users won’t be able to use the latest navdata with the uns ? ![]()
We’re working with Navigraph to find a solution for that using their latest API.

I’ll avoid getting into a debate around pricing as it’s subjective and naturally we consider our pricing to be fair, however I’d point out that it’s not a direct comparison with the Fenix or PMDG aircraft as we have seven variants in one product.
It’s also difficult to compare functionality between two very different aircraft types like the 146 and A320 but we’ve simulated all the 146 systems exactly as per the FCOMs, so often it’s a perception that our aircraft isn’t as realistic as those from other developers rather than that actually being the case.

My post was not about functionality but about the approach to “post-release” support. JF is doing a great job, but you are not the only developer that keeps fixing and improving your “old” products. I only argue with saying “nobody is even close to JF”, nothing else. Fenix was just example because they released a huge update recently.
I am really impressed with the upcoming updates to 146 and I am looking forward to the release.
The YT video mentioned to leave some new ideas in the comments section, but I thought I’d just add one here.
Whilst a more accurate V1/Takeoff-distance calculator may still be in the works(?), I think a paper take-off distance chart would be highly appreciated in the meantime (even if it were to be constructed arbitrarily, should it not be possible to source the real thing).
This would also tie-in nicely with the virtual paper-based checklists and charts you guys have recently added to the model. ![]()
Releasing today?
Can’t take the wait any more LOL
They announced it for the next week.
I can’t wait this long ![]()
A takeoff/landing performance calculator is something we would also like to bring to the EFB and the paper alternatives in the future. We did begin work on one for the EFB last year, but other projects became a priority so it’s slipped down the pecking order somewhat. It is still on our radar for the 146 and our future project though!

We are currently on track to release this update next week (W/C 1st April).

Sim performance-wise could anyone tell me how this compares with the PMDG 737-600?
At EGNM with the 737 I am getting around 35fps on the ground and around 40-45’ish in the air.
Very interested in the BAE 146 but if it is more performance heavy than the 737 then I will probably have to wait until I upgrade my PC later this year.
I would say it is noticeably better.
Thank you.
I was expecting someone to say it was heavier on performance than the 737 so this is good news ![]()
