No one is getting upset it’s purely a discussion. You can’t really compare buying a supercar with an aircraft add on for flight simulator. Yes you would like a Ferrari for the price of a Ford but at least if you buy a Ferrari you know what you are getting, high quality with no compromises. Not the case with the MD82, even though it’s priced at the high end. That’s the point I’m making. When you compare it against other aircraft, it’s not cheap so you would expect the textures and sounds to be top quality, but sadly they are not.
When developers charge at the top end for add ons we should expect to have something top quality. If there is something which isn’t 100% of course some people will be upset. The price should be an indicator of how high quality the add on is. But unfortunately in this case it’s not.
I will take this more gentle, just to say if a Ferrari is worth $500k? Even if it’s not reliable as a Porsche or the air conditioner is not so good? If considered alone hen Yes of course! It’s speed and design and feel is worth it. But then if mclaren or Lamborghini or Porsche come out with a car as fast, with better build quality, similar styling class but better materials at 70% of the price? The Ferrari still worth it for Ferrari fans, but for someone only wants a super car and with only the budget to own one? You know how a lot of ppl will choose.
I think JF were clever to get the 146 out ahead of the MD-82.
& with he 737 possibly arriving this weekend I suspect some potential passenger aircraft purchasers who currently only have the budget for 1 more will be waiting to see what price point it comes in at & how good it is, while also waiting to see if Leonardo tweaks the textures & sounds soon.

Yes, the sounds in the VC and cabin and outside make it hard ti immersive myself in it. Just don’t give me the feedback of flight and engine spools and flap/slat drag etc that make the md-80 neat. They gave an awesome cabin with incorrect engine sounds for the location of it and it feels a bit dry back there.
There’s a clickpot in front of the weather radar, the little placeholder where in a car you’d have your parkingmeter coins. Click there and it will display a sheet with takeoff performance data. Click that one again, and it will show you the landing speeds data. Pending on your settings the weight is automatically tuned in, but otherwise you can scroll the sheet for the proper landing weight configuration. Just right click the speed instrument to update the bugs or do it manually based on the sheet. Happy landings!
One of those 1plane budget people here. And indeed so waiting on the 737 info for now.
Not going to lie, since taxes do not get added here it is less painfull but honestly would like to know Leonardo their plans for the near future in regards to patches for audio and vidual and eventual bugs.
I know JF are solid when it comes to fast patching of critical stuff at least but i have zero experience with leonardo.
From my experience with them (P3D/FSX). They will release hotfix’es through their forum and later update the main installer on simmarket.
This has always been their mode of operation.
The fact that they still haven’t released a price and they didn’t give a beta to guys who usually fly the Zibo like Flightdeck2sim, CptCanada, and other Xplane guys irks me tbh.
Hello fellow simmers I have the Rotate MD-80 which is a outstanding aircraft if you use both how do they compare to you I shelved MSFS for two years because lack of advanced study level aircraft now with the release of the MD80 I reinstalled MSFS, the most important thing to me is the feel of the aircraft or the flight model which in my option is better in my other simulator tell me what you think. Good Day
The base price is 75 Euros everywhere. If you have to pay more (like 90 Euros) the additional 15 Euros is VAT tax charged by whatever county you live in. None of that additional 15 Euros goes to the developer - it goes to the government of the country that charges VAT, like any other tax.
When people criticize the price as “90 Euros” (or in some cases more) it gives the impression that it the price set by the developer when that is not the case.
The developer does not include VAT, the reseller where you purchase the add-on is the one who applies and collects the tax. In the case of the Maddog, the sole reseller at this time is SimMarket.
The point is that it is unfair and completely inappropriate to criticize the developer of greed for selling a “90 Euro airplane” when that is not the price that he is asking or receiving.
If you live in Europe, where VAT applies, the add-on costs 90 Euro (or more in some cases). If you live in the US, Canada or other countries where VAT does not apply, it costs 75 Euro. In any case, the developer receives no more than 75 Euro per sale no matter where you purchase the product. (Less actually, because I’m sure SimMarket takes a commission on each sale through their online store).
