I’m now on leg 45 of my 200 leg round the world, every country with long enough runway, Concorde tour on my way from FYWH to FACT. Here’s a screenie from my dawn startup a couple of days ago at FZIC.
I salute you, that’s amazing! Namibia is high on our bucket list… and as an Aussie I’m loving the Qantas livery! Keep sending postcards here ![]()
I just did Tokyo - Singapore - Dubai today.
Singapore is a huge airport!
just wanted to ask/ report issue:
on overheadpanel warning light I forgot to set cabin pressure before take off so the PRESS light comes on, while it seems that setting the switches back won’t increase cabin pressure back to normal during flight?
I finally bought Concorde. I’ve been simming for years, but man… I feel like a newbie all over again (and I love the challenge).
I decided to take it on a few trips out of Barbados, out over the ocean and back again to get a grip of things. I’m getting there. It’s a fantastic aircraft.
Last night I attempted my first transatlantic flight, I successfully departed JFK and gradually worked up to FL600 and mach 1.99, descended right on target too. However, when lining up for the ILS for 23R at Manchester it just wouldn’t grab it. I had the nav source flicked back to RAD and the correct frequency dialed in to the active NAV1. I manually lined up with the localiser and just as the glideslope came alive I tried to engage the autopilot to handle the landing. Everytime I did so it would veer off to the right. I decided to turn it all off and manually land. A nice challenge in the low vis and rain last night.
Ah well, back to the manual and a another system to learn. It would be boring if everything in flight when to plan every time!
Finally finished my last world tour flight with the Concorde. If anyone has ever flown the “Mach Loop,” from EGLL to LFPG, even though it seems like it would be a short flight, it’s interesting keeping up Mach 2 in one big loop (I miss the challenge of doing it via CIVA INS… sort of).
Here’s a guide if anyone wants to try:
Great to hear you’re enjoying Concorde and successfully making trans-Atlantic flights with it. The ILS system does work but there are two caveats: you must follow the Interactive Checklist procedure as the MSFS autopilot can’t handle close intercepts, and use the GLIDE button to capture glideslope and ILS LOC. Concorde should capture the ILS every time that way.
Having said that, SU9 has truly broken countless parts of the simulator so right now we’re just waiting to see what Asobo do next before we can diagnose any more fixes of our own. Our hands are tied at the moment really.
any idea to how to get mid flight cabin pressure back to normal? it seems to me it wasn’t present tbefore and now it showed I suffocated all my passengers with cabin altitude of 50k feet
No idea at all I’m afraid, we have no knowledge of why or how Asobo has changed those values or how our own systems have been affected at this time.
ic, I tinker along the flight and it seems like I am unable to close the pressure relief valve at all, so once it climb past like FL300 and the warning light comes on, see if any others have similar issue
A question for the developers: I have noticed that people who don’t own the Concorde just see a hovering little airplane. But for example when seeing a DC6, as I don’t own that one I see a an airplane of the size of an A320. The problem is that people often ignore the Concorde when taxiing because the just see this little plane. Can this be changed so that the placeholder airplane more reflects the size of the actual one?
Are there any plans to include the nyc-Paris flight plan? I’m getting bored with nyc to London.
I have created an unofficial Concorde discord. DC Designs Concorde (unofficial)
Join if you would like help flying Concorde, want to do group flights, want to chat about Concorde etc.
That’s something we would all like for all airplanes, there might be ways to do it but at the moment MSFS can’t even get basic multiplayer properties correct so it’s going to be a while I think.
Even after SU9 what was fixed? Everything I tested on the fix list wasn’t fixed at all. I mean this sim is SOOOO BROKEN most have no idea.
Yet we have come up with so many workarounds and band aids for everything possible. I have not flown out of dev mode for over a year now to just get rid of the log book stuttering constantly. I know these systems are deep and take time to fix but they are well documented problems and yeah here I am two years later with mouse bugs and inputs fighting each other.
It’s a mess is what it is. I would pay someone to fix it to be honest. I am tired of rehashing my same bug reports only to see stuff labeled fixed when not fixed at all. FACT the Caerando audio bug wasn’t even a bug until that update hit and yet it’s some how Caerenado’s fault that Asobo changed the legacy audio? There is a reason it’s called legacy audio you know. I can’t blame them for that.
Same for Concorde here I am pushing out your fixes on Google drive for Marketplace users (Thanks for that BTW) and thanks for the quick update to get the plane flying again. While we may not agree on everything we most certainly agree on this and I am glad I do not have to endure the stress from Asobo like you guys. It’s bad enough being an end user.
That said I don’t hate Asobo and in fact like some of their stuff it’s just yeah more like sim downgrades and when the patches are forced it’s a scary time for everyone. Now back to trying to stay connected to Azure while it gets completely hammered.
That’s an interesting perspective. Although I wouldn’t deny there are still some bugs and areas for improvement, whenever I fly and whatever aircraft I pick it’s always a fun experience. I really haven’t noticed any show stopping problems unless I try to fly the day of a sim update when some mod hasn’t been updated properly. Wait a day or two and never have an issue.
I wonder why I have such a different experience.
for cabin altitude, I played around for a while more, it seems that it can’t really keep below 15k feet at default setting, not for long cruise at FL 600. My flight from EGKK to KJFK have the press light comes up after like 2.5 hrs of flight, but then if any of the shut1/2 switch, from some quick research on web it seems in the middle should be auto, (default posisiton is shut 2), if trying to flicker any of the switch, be it the on/off of sys 1 & 2 or the shut 1/2 switch, it will quickly normalize to the ambient pressure and no way to re pressurize it.
Also from some web search the sys 1 and 2 should be kept in same setting, but in game it seems whenever I switch sys 1 on sys 2 will goes to off, vice versa. although in the Concorde everyone is superman and can breath freely at FL600, so not game breaking issue, but maybe worth a look?
I haven’t had the PRESS light come on in my last two flights.
I’m not even clear on what switches you are talking about. I didn’t know it even had automatic cabin pressure.
Did you CTD in Singapore ?
I keep getting CTDs in Singapore.
Nope. No issues.
