[Released on PC and Xbox] DC Designs Aérospatiale/BAC Concorde

There are no bug reports on Concorde at the moment, other than the mis-alignment of the ILS approach which seems to be as much caused by the sim itself as the aircraft. Plenty of users enjoying trans-Atlantic flights in Concorde and posting pictures of their travels on our Discord. Lots of folks complaining of bugs who then turn out to be doing things wrong. Cannot provide support here though.

Not broken at all it flies pretty well only issues ive had which are annoying is the AP sometimes doing odd things

Yeah I gotta be honest, I read that comment and thought I was going crazy.

I haven’t run into any issues with Concorde. Some addons break all the time with sim updates, but this isn’t one of them.

The flight model was made before the ground effect adjustments on the base sim, so it floats like crazy before touchdown.

The pressurization system does not pressurize properly at FL600 so the alarm turns on

The course selector on the HSI doesn’t work, the arrow don’t turn at all so we are unable to conventional navigation using VOR

etc…

Concorde ground effect is a real thing and is correct, it had to be landed in a specific way in order to overcome its immense ground effect.

I will check pressurization, but again, lots of users fly with these in play and are not reporting any issues / bugs with them. I will ask on my Discord. I tuned a VOR just the other day and tracked it without any problem.

( ETA: Course selector works in INS setting )

Never had any of these, Concorde didn’t land like a normal aircraft so don’t fly it like one

Example of the Concorde landing, so you can see it float. There are better examples on YouTube too.

If you are still in the process of updating this please please please please please can we have the most important feature: the captains hat stuck between the panels :man_pilot:

(High level increment fuel would be nice too if the sim allows for this but the captains hat is far more important :innocent:)

I’m afraid that was only done once, on a Concorde’s final flight. The hat remains there to this day

If you look closely though near the engineer’s panel and the cockpit wall, you can see the cockpit walls expand and contract as Mach number increases and the fuselage heats up - that’s been there since Concorde was launched.

Hi Dean, thanks for your reply. Yes I’m aware, for some reason I always look for it, don’t know why.

I think the crew occasionally played tricks on the cabin crew by putting other things in there too but I’m not 100% sure how correct that is. EFB option for what you’d like stuck between the panel? :joy:

However I didn’t know that you had simulated the cockpit walls expanding and contracting that’s incredible :exploding_head:

I’m really enjoying getting back in to this and each time I do I always think what an amazing job youve done on something which must have been so much more complex to do above normal aircraft.

Really looking forward to any future updates.

There is now an update, but did not found any community comments or reviews yet. There should be improved textures, model, some instruments improvements, and INS nav.

Any experiences?

Apparently the INS didn’t get finished coding-wise but the interface is there (along with the ability to still use the FMC) I’m having some issues with the autopilot and key bindings so I haven’t flown it much yet. It looks great though, particularly the updated cabin all the way to the back of the plane. All the 3rd party liveries will have to be re-done due to the new exterior textures. I’m afraid with all the activity surrounding FS2024, it’s likely to be a while before those get updated, if at all.

In real life it did do normal approaches just like any other airliner, even ones like the complex IGS13 at Kai-Tak with its final turn. There are numerous videos of it in Kai-Tak and doing the approach much better than some other slower airliners.

The route proving with the prototypes proved that it would behave like other airliners in and out of airports even in poor weather conditions or with ATC holds, etc.

It actually flies the approaches at fairly similar speeds to most other airliners and doesn’t land at particularly higher speeds than others, A380 excepted.

After learning about the update I went to check it out and the texture and model work is noticeable. But I found these problems without even taking off, they are not serious:

At night, all the engine information lights are not visible, only the needles making it impossible to read them.

The artificial horizon backlight looks strange.

The first wheel starting above the pilot on the left armrest does not illuminate the pilot’s instruments

And previous ones that I knew about:

The air switch for engine 1 only rises when you are about to start the engines.

And a design decision that I don’t quite understand:

The camera position, which in my case is 50 49 50, is perfect if it weren’t for the fact that if we leave it default again it looks up, who thought that was a good idea? I have to look at the instruments, not the ceiling. It’s not a problem, I just have to place it myself.

I bought the Concorde in the black friday sale but I can´t get the autopilot to work. Whenever I try to engange vert speed or max climb, alt acq disenganges and vice versa. So I can´t climb to a preselcected altitute, which basically makes the plane unusable. Does anyone else has this issue too?

There have been some problems reported.
Due to forum rules the team can’t offer support here but there is a dedicated section of our discord for concorde discussion and support.
It maybe your issue has been reported already and advice given by the developer or by the concorde community.
