yea, good luck with that
we are more used into looking for solutions to specific problems and acting even if it breaks the logic instead of wait sitting down or put on unnecessary shows (like the one you are putting on here whatever your goal is), in order to solve our problems. Asobo has their roadmap, and we have ours working with the available tools.
welcome to the developer world!
It’s not the project that you did is an issue is how you represent your product as it’s an faithful representation of the Concorde which is not. It’s actually pretty far from it from the FMS you invented to the texture quality that doesn’t meet MSFS standard. I have no issue with developer who tried to do what you guys did but also the pricing and description of the product has to reflect that.
Now if your product description included a roadmap of all the thing you pan of adding to make it a better representation of the Concorde, it would probably be more acceptable. You make it sound that it flies exactly like the real thing where when I watch other streamer fly it, it really doesn’t. I am not saying it’s not saying a flyable usable product. You are asking 40 USD for this. When I look at the XP11 product that you are competing against. They offer so much more for 54.95 USD. You ask what my goal is , it is to inform user what they are buying and make their own decision. it’s their money after all. If you want a concorde because it’s cool to fly one, Perfect. If you want an aircraft that is a faithful representation of a concorde, your product is not even close to that.
Your definition of “faithful representation” is the real issue here, along with what you consider fair market value for peoples’ services. Have you produced, marketed and sold products aimed at a niche hobbyist consumer base? Or professional services based on your personal skill, experience and hard-earned wisdom and knowledge? Because I’ve done both extensively. Setting a price is a very, very subjective and difficult thing to get “right,” and the “fair” price will vary based on far too many objective and subjective factors.

Been getting a bit more to grips with it this evening. Managed my first cold and dark start. Not very difficult really once you know what you’re doing. Managed two successful landings at Edinburgh. You do come in at a fairly nail biting speed but at least you touch down quite smoothly and with reverse thrust applied you come to a halt really pretty quickly.
I do like Concorde a lot. I’m not overly into airliners in the sim. I sometimes think the airliner side of things really exists in a bit of a sperate world to the rest of it. I find with airliners you can just dabble in them every now and then. You really do have to study everything to get the most out of it. Its all about systems monitoring and navigation, which I’m not so into or good at. Concorde does make me want to dive into that side of things again though and give it another shot.
Heathrow was absolutely packed again this evening with Concorde pilots. Had real problems starting a flight there it was so busy.
I like to see packed airports, but it can be hard to get ready for takeoff!
Hello,
A problem when I turn on the airplane from cold and dark.
I already read the manual and try to find a solution there…
I close the ground power circuit, and once I turn on BATT 1 a loud alarm sound, impossible to akwnoledge
Landing gear down ?
Well done, thank you very much !
Hello everybody.
I have an issue with the engine start, and after viewing lots of videos and reading the manual carefully I don’t have the answer:
I do everything in order:
- Ground Service Swich: ON
- Both ESP swich: ON
- EPU swich: ON
- All 4 Engine Bleed Valves: ON
- All 4 LP Bleed Valves: ON
- All 4 Crossfeed Valves: ON…
- And Starting Engine no. 3… N2 increase to 22% (aprox), but EGT and N1 are death…
The unique solution that I find is… Ctrl+E…
Any suggestion?
Thanks!!
Do the following:
Start over, and always check that EPU stays ON until all engines have been started.
It’s fantastic in VR
I have the 2nd and 3rd (final) videos in my Concorde series up.
This one covers takeoff and climb to altitude as well as fuel management to maintain proper CG during climb.
This one covers night lighting, descent, ILS capture, and landing. (Please allow about 30 mins from this post for it to finish uploading/processing the HD version)
Hopefully these will be helpful to you as I have gained a bunch more knowledge on how to fly this bird. Not that these are perfect - there are lots of things to still work on. But my mistakes are easily seen and discussed in the videos as well so that you can hopefully avoid them on your journeys.
Change your payload weight for the Pilot to 0 kg. That should make him disappear.
Yes, I check the EPU… and is always ON.
I noted that with Ctrl+E some swichs (pumps and valves) in the fuel panel change, but doing it manually the problem persist. Some pics previously and after Ctrl+E :

Maybe I’m forgetting somethin previously to starting proceed?
When you have N2 to 22% +/- you have to switch on the HP Selector in the Lower OVH panel.

I bought this aircraft yesterday and am loving it so far. Upon installing and loading up this aircraft, I have noticed the following:
-
I did not see an option during install to put the aircraft files anywhere other in the MSFS community folder. As I use an addon linker, as I’m sure many here do also, it would be nice to be able to install to a custom folder so that I can link the aircraft in or out of the sim as required. I ended up moving the aircraft folder manually and linking it myself, but it would be nice if the installer gave this option.

In 2D I can change to the various instrument views by first using my joystick’s hatswitch to look down then right or left through these instrument views. When in VR this does not work, meaning I cannot get across to the flight engineer’s panel without removing my headset and pressing the keys for that explicit instrument view. This is fine at the moment while I learn to fly the aircraft with auto fuel management, however eventually I want to do some fuel management myself. The FBW A320 allows the same instrument view control in VR as it does in 2D, so I would like to see it work like that.
I flew the SSTSIM Concorde extensively in FS9 back in the day and this new version has brought back many happy feelings of flying this handful of a beast. Thank you so much for what you have alread put together and I look forward to future optimisations.
Just move the folder out of Community to wherever you like and use AddOn Linker to link to it. I’ve done that for all of DC Designs (and SC Designs) planes without issue, including the Concorde.
I watched the most recent video from @BostonJeremy77 - very helpful to watch someone else go through things.
One question though, and @CodenameJack447 might be able to answer it though - is there really any need to manually balance the fuel to push the CG aft tank-by-tank? Isn’t that what the Auto Transfer (FWD/OFF/AFT) control is for? I understand real-life Flight Engineers could tweak things or override the automatic CG controls as needed for different flight circumstances or in cases of a pump or valve failure, but for a basic MSFS flight, especially just familiarizing oneself with the plane, can the sim-pilot simply set the Auto Transfer switch to Aft to push the CG aft-wards for climb and cruise phases?
I do have something else to ask about - I mentioned yesterday that I do not see rudder animations. I found today that if I start from C&D at the airport, I do not see rudder animations no matter what. If I spawn on the runway ready to takeoff, I do and they are just fine.
The second question I have is, how do I activate a flight plan in the FMC? I thought from @BostonJeremy77’s video this afternoon that enabling the AP and clicking the INS button (repurposed here for LNAV) would activate my plan, which I created in the sim World Map. So after take off and establishing a steady climb, I did that, saw the plane beginning to turn toward what I thought was my flight plan, then transitioned to the FE’s panel to start figuring out fuel transfer, how to interpret the CG gauge and watching tank quanities, etc. I fiddled around with that for a long time, probably too long. Next time I looked up at the repeater displays, I’m approaching Mach 1 at about 20,000 feet or so. Fine, no worries … as I was starting to get a feel for how the tank switches moved, I’m approaching Mach 2 at 50,000’. Great! Then I checked the VFR map and I’m heading north into Canada, somewhere over Lake Ontario, when I should be flying off the eastern seaboard of North America heading to Miami. Panning around the map shows my magenta line for the planned route, and the FMC shows all the desired waypoints. But I don’t see how to ACTIVATE that plan.
What dumb thing have I missed? ![]()
