I had a fair few warnings going off on short final, but as I was also running low on fuel, I hadn’t looked closely enough at the reasons.
It was, by far, not the best example of how to fly a plane. I often do that with a new aircraft though. Just get in and see how it goes. 
As for the checklist, I fly in VR and have found the checklist “confirm” button to have a clickspot that can be a little hard to find. Maybe I need to see if I can bind it to one of my controller buttons.
