[Released] SF50 Vision Jet G2

The auto-pilot is trying to murder me! It can’t control VS, and when I activate NAV mode the plane attempts to circle around the same spot on the ground, even tilting vertically and stalling. Has anyone seen this before?

The scoreboard annunciator shows you’re not on AP, unless you turned it off.

It may have turned itself off after the plane flipped upside down. I’m not sure. Either way, AP and NAV mode were both on and that caused the stall.

might be wrong, but usually when AP disconnect there will be a red ‘‘AP’’ flashing

I’m having a hell of a time keeping this thing straight on the runway during take off. Almost like a propeller aircraft, once I go to take-off thrust, the jet is pulling hard to the right. Any ideas what the issue is?

I see that you had an alarming vertical speed of 6450 but with 500 selected, possibly just due to the planes attitude just moments before left spin, but maybe a trim binding issue.

If you can’t reproduce, this seems like user error. Those buttons can be hard to hit with a mouse, and sometimes you toggle them off instead of on. This has all the signs of AP just not being on at all.

Since that seems SO likely, I really don’t care to speculate about what else it could have been.

That said, auto throttle in FMS mode and FLC initiated on the AP is a near foolproof way to climb. VS is a nice secondary option, but for real, AT in FMS and FLC is the way to go. The computer chooses your speed and rate of climb for you, then has a different speed for when you level off.

I noticed that with MSFS does not log takeoffs with the Vision Jet. Does anyone else have this?

This has happened on almost all of my flights, even more, sometimes it logs 2 landings. Does not happen with my other aircraft that I usually fly

A lot of my flights in most airplanes do not log takeoffs. I wish I knew what the key was.

Not an issue at all if you are not using a mouse for that stuff. Many of us prefer to fly without having to use an immersion breaking mouse. It really is the way to go. I’m inclined to take this report at face value. It’s not that hard to know if your AP is on or off.

Its due to the sims over calculation of the wind effect on take off roll. it starts at a certain speed and stops after take off. if you select clear day with no wind you will have a straight shot down the runway.

remember the sim technically doesnt support v tails with a combination of rudder and elevator. you can if you want (as many due, despite what some people say) fly with rudder assistance on for this aircraft. with it on it performs like it actually would on take off.

Were you able to figure it out?

Pull up the Objectives popup. You’re likely missing some required interaction with ATC or something similar.

I don’t use ATC, but i still get credit for landing. Thank you though. I will check out the objectives.

This may not be a Vision Jet specific thing. I’ve been doing the same procedure as always and haven’t logged a takeoff in a few days, whatever plane I used.

I read a thread re this ages ago, and remember it happens when starting cold and dark, you must follow the taxi ribbon exactly to the correct runway and runway direction or something similar, basically if you don’t do precisely what the sim expects, you won’t record a take off. Personally I haven’t used a taxi ribbon since my beginner days, but also I record very few take offs. But I get a recorded take off every time I start on a runway.

This jet is great! I flew from the east coast of the us to pacific. It can land almost anywhere even grass.

I always start cold and dark and use the correct runway, but don’t use the taxi ribbon, so this makes sense.

I have not logged a single flight on any aircraft since I purchased the Vision Jet on Dec 2. My logbook stopped at 3001 flights. I mainly use STKP for a log book and those flights are logged so I never really check the MSFS one. I do 3 flights a day switching between PMDG, CRJ, and the Vision Jet. I think it is a Vision Jet issue.
