[RELEASED] Wilga 35/80 Series | Got Friends

That’s the same dev, so you’ve just already got the same models then from a stand-alone package.

I will check the Cornwall one. Thanks.

Ah yes so it is, I’m blind!

I think Goonhilly was from a larger pack of Cornwall POI’s. Very cool if you fly that area. I have tons in SW England

I’ll dig for it if you need help finding it.

Seems like you’d need to be a bit mad to build an astronomical observatory in Britain. lol.

On the positive side, it’s cheap to run for 2 days a year

Think of the savings on electricity bills!

Seen this one previously on .to. Haven’t downloaded it yet due to the file size, but will do so eventually - at the latest when I’m approaching the Atacama desert

Sadly we went from “only available in the Marketplace” to “never available in the marketplace”. For users under regional prices this was really important so it is a pity it wasn’t considered,
It will probably be out next week but still this is probably an indication that when the plane is updated the marketplace will take the long run.

It will be out soon. Don’t be too disappointed if it’s still not next week though. It’s worth the wait

I suggest you spend the time until then flying your other planes to death as you probably won’t be touching those again for a good while after you sit in the Willy

Also yes updates will take longer. They always do for everything in the MP (you know this) but it doesn’t NEED any updates. Unlikely a sim update will bork it that bad and if it does, it will get patched. No point stressing out, there isn’t anything you can do.

I think the MP releases are backlogged more than usual due to the Xmas break though.

Just a question (with no offense):
What do you think about the Corvette?

Who? Me? …

Yes

Well not something I’m interested in, even if it was free I wouldn’t bother but the price is ridiculous for what amounts to a joke.

The only “car” I tried in MSFS is the Land Rover Discovery by SWS. Let’s just say if THEY can’t get the physics even close to drivable, then there is no hope for anyone to make a car work.

Also as has been said, the scenery and road quality really isn’t designed for that at all. It looks awesome from 500ft+ but it’s fugly from the ground. The idea of driving anywhere in the world may be a sound concept, but when every bridge or hill or river stops you, what’s the point?

A driving “game” should be designed as such. If you want to drive on a big realistic map get Forza Horizon. If you want to race get a proper sim with force feedback!

Thanks for the answer.

Now back to topic.
I would like to see the Wilga in Marketplace rather sooner then later.
Lot’s of my friends fly on XBox and they still eagerly wait for it to land.

Regardless of quality of the car addon, there are no actual roads in game they are just road coloured textures on quite bumpy and erratic terrain. Unless you want to just drive around airport taxiways.

I had been hoping to see the Wilga on Orbx, but failing that the marketplace will be acceptable, though I may just buy direct.

I understand your point and share it but this is from a dev that stated several times “it will be only available in the marketplace” so it is quite ironic that the plane is not available after what? 3 or 4 weeks? PMDG is the opposite story they said “it will eventually be in the marketplace” so I can just wait until it is finally released without false expectations.

Anyway the Wilga will be there someday but I’m taking a principled pass on this one. As they say customers speak with their wallets.

I don’t believe you

Neither do I.

It is unfortunate devs do not have the option of marketplace only for XBox. Reserving PC sales to direct sale.

Xbox or PC MS are never going to take responsibiity for non affiliated third party products … no software marketplace does.

Any chance of a 430 being added to the Wilga? Only thing holding me back is the lack of avionics in this airplane. If I didn’t want to fly in VR it is fine as I just use my tablet for navigating, but in VR with the Aera… that just sucks.

Sorry, I was flying earlier but meant to write more.

I can totally understand your frustration but it is out of their control. I am sure they would love it to be available, not only to have their work be appreciated by more users, but also as until they get sales, they won’t get paid from the MP until probably 30-45 days later. That is a big gap since they finished working on it (and hopefully have the funds to start on their next project… or maybe not?!).

I know they originally said it would be exclusive but a lot of people were asking for another alternative, so they just listened to their customers - I am sure the fact that the Marketplace is so slow (and unpredictable) was also a factor in that decision. It is a ridiculous turn around time, considering all these developers are relying on that store for their income (for the investments they have made and time they have put in). It is not surprising that developers want to have this more under their control in terms of timescales… and the MP shows no signs of helping them. They (MS) REALLY need to sort that process out and speed it up. It is a huge thorn in the side of this sim at the moment. I can’t really fathom how it can be quite so slow to process stuff unless it is just too understaffed.

If they are relying on residual income from DLC, you would think prioritising improving that would be quite high on their agenda, and totally separate from any tasks to do with coding the simulator so can be expanded separately without affecting the development of the game itself.

However, even if all that did happen, you still need to work with the other restrictions of the MP (on PC I mean). i.e. not easy to disable stuff temporarily, slow to patch files (it takes ages where the PC just freezes whilst it’s doing “something”) and not possible to split out content to different local drives. Addons Linker + Orbx is just so much more powerful and flexible. For Xbox’s, then yeah, no alternative!

Anyway, hang on in there - I promise it will be worth the wait and you will instantly forget all this happened once you get her in the air for the first time
