The initial reviews by buyers not connected to the project can sway other potential purchasers.
Is this a Ctrl + E start & take off, as many do, or a ‘must read the Manual’, or you will be disappointed aircraft?
If the latter, then it needs to be highlighted somewhere at the point of, or just after, purchase.
Where is the Manual?

The Boeing 247 inaugural flight was from San Francisco to New York. Looks like I have some flight planning to do…
Well - as you may or may not know with me, I am NOT connected to Wing42 other than testing some stuff and providing feedback during final phase of development. First of all, I would never do that for a NUMBER of developers simply because I don’t like the way they do business and I have never been afraid of calling a spade a spade. If this was not good, I’d be the first telling you to stay FAR away (you can see me doing that on a few things here and there…)
Also… this is NOT a Ctrl-E aircraft. It doesn’t take THAT much to get it going, but… there are a number of things that will be less than ideal if you try to spawn on the runway and take off (if your engines don’t go out immediately)… The manual is located in the subfolder of the aircraft. There are SEVERAL manuals including tutorials and a guide to radio navigation, etc… It pays to read the manual.
There are also things like different types of oil, different fuel/oil loads, etc. You may want to change your oil if you last flew in Africa and now are flying in North America. Temperature variations will have an effect.
You CAN disable malfunctions on the clipboard. But this is NOT an aircraft you quickly boot up on the runway and go zooming around in. At all.
I imagine you’re in contact with Otmar and I tired of refreshing. Any update on release time?
You can hold on your breath tho, he’s probably fixing issues, better that than getting angry people complaining about issues if he releases the plane now
If you think I am messaging Otmar and asking him “What’s the release time?” every 5 minutes, you couldn’t be further from the truth. As a matter of fact, I know you are very excited and eager, and so am I… but it’s coming. Soon. Let it be. Go fly something else.
Eat some ice cream. Run on a treadmill. Open your door and inhale the fresh spring air. It’s coming. Soon. I don’t know what time, and I don’t much care.
I am sure you understand this cat has probably been working A LOT of hours trying to get this ready. I know this because the person who does the sound was working on things at 10 am today. Everyone is in crunch mode and exhausted, so please let these people breathe and finish it for you so it’s delivered in the exact state they are comfortable releasing it in.
Agree with your sentiments. I was trying to point out that an aircraft that requires study & set up can frustrate the ‘kick the tires/light the fire’ crew & reflect in their ‘couldn’t get it started’ complaining vein of review.
Then it becomes how best to get out ahead of them so that early reviews are supportive of the product.?

It’s out now!
Their site is crashing/failing under load - I’ve been trying to buy for five minutes with no luck.
EDIT: site finally took my order and downloading the installer now. 1.4GB download.
It’s a free for all lads! Go go go
Still astonished by that price - my KFC for two people tonight was around double that price.
LOL we are successfully applying the Reddit (server) Hug of Death to the Wings42 site.
Just bought it myself…looking forward to testing it all out. Probably going to take it slow and learn as much as I can. No need to rush!
Bought and installed. Sadly no time to fly it anymore today, but looking forward to it tomorrow.
Thanks for the nightshift Otmar!
Bought and downloading. Process is slow, as expected, but smooth.
EDIT: must have a good download server, it went pretty fast.
Still nada here site dead
Patience. Just let it run, it may take 5 minutes or more, but it does work.
It is now available on the Wing42 website. I just downloaded the plane. Now going for a spin.
