Then where is the option to use only essential cookies and why can’t I submit a comment to the devs without it parsing my email to sell?
So many beautiful little details. And I haven’t even left the hangar with it. Thanks!!
even the manufacturers plate is there.
all screws “fastenened” differently
In my hangar. Just need to start her up!
I managed to start it up and go for a couple of test flights. All I can say is WOW! How is it possible that the most complex aircraft I have in my hangar is also the cheapest? What’s the catch here? I haven’t found a single item in this plane that isn’t modelled.
And I haven’t found any duplicate textures yet. In most airliners all the seats use the same texture. Here every single one seems to have its own.
Gotta say, I’m very impressed with this aircraft. Can’t wait to fly it more.
If anyone is having issues getting it started, I reviewed it and showed how to start it up.
Thanks for confirming. Makes flying in VR hard for me without it, I am hoping they add the functionality in the future.
Did a couple of flights with involuntary landings so far.
Fantastic aircraft … the attention to detail and the realism are great. The clipboard and its functions are a work of art. I will spend many hours in that bird, that much is guaranteed!
All I gotta do now, is figure out why the engines quit after about 10-20 minutes in flight. I’m guessing my oil temps were too high, but I’m not sure.
Would it be possible to have the clipboard tell us why exactly the engines quit? In a digital environment I’m never quite sure if an aircraft failure is legit or the result of a bug. That uncertainty along with the fact that I’m not an radial engine engineer makes it tough to judge what went wrong.
Also, the one gripe I do have with the aircraft is the engine sounds. The recordings sound very low quality. It has this weird 8bit sound that I haven’t heard since the good old Amiga 500 days. Also, in the external view the sound doesn’t seem to change, regardless of the viewing angle. And yeah, the right engine fly wheel has no sound.
It would be fantastic if the sound effects could be improved to the same level as the rest of the aircraft at some point. I would even pay extra for a sound upgrade, considering how criminally cheap this add-on was!
The sounds of a radial engine are so very important for the enjoyment of an aircraft.
But that’s it. This aircraft is a fantastic achievement that you can be very proud of. Or in other words: your move, A2A!
it is coming to xbox.
Is there a way to completely reset the aircraft?
I have had my flight sim crash while having the engines at idle and now only the electric components work. Wobble pump, fuel plungers etc. have no effect anymore.
I noticed that the fuel tanks are empty after a reset. Fill up the tanks and the wobble pump etc. work again.
Looks like an absolutely amazing model. Engine sound, just like on quite a few others seems quite poor but lets hope that gets fixed somewhere down the line.
One thing despite the whole vibe of the plane would be added is a mobile navunit, like for example the Flying Iron Spitfire has. And perhaps hide a transponder in a vintage suitecase or hidden under the seat.
Simply because the whole sim is in a today setting and it would be great to have the ability to talk to atc and take this wonderfull timecapsule out for a flight in todays airspace and or use on Vatsim.
Same thing happened to me. Crash then wobble no longer works. Refilled tanks, made it so… etc. How do you ‘reset’ the plane from state saving?
A couple of things to check:
On the Oil System page of the checklist, make sure the grade of the oil in your engines is appropriate for your local air temperatures. Also, find and use the oil shutters - I think they were initially closed and that was causing my high oil temps followed by engine fire and failure.
Which axis have you bind the throttles to if using something like SPAD.next?
I can increase/decrease throttle, but the levers themselves are not moving. With the in-game controller settings it works fine, but I use an external program for all aircraft.
Kinda struggling with the engines as well. At first I couldn’t even get them to start up. The manual says that when the RPM is high enough from the cranking the green mesh button comes on but after a few failed starts it seems you have to wait a bit after that comes up or it won’t start. After that I got the engines fired up but then they kept dying… Dunno why as I was idling at pretty low RPMs and the oil temp seemed to be okay but then the engines kept cutting out after a minute or two. Now the clipboard says engine malfunction and I have to restart the flight. Maybe I’m idling too low? Maybe the oil temps are too low? I dunno because the manual tells you what the upper limits are but just says don’t let it get too low without saying what too low is. So kinda confused with this but I’m sure I’ll get there.
Here’s a nice little detail I’ve not seen mentioned. If you have the engine selector switch pointed down so it’s covering the primer pump you can’t actually pull the pump out. Likewise if you have the selector set to left or right and have left the primer pump pulled out you can’t move the switch across it because it’s physically blocking it. Don’t think I’ve seen something like that modelled before.
One thing I’m not a fan of though is the need to actually click and drag for a lot of things. It can be quite cumbersome and doesn’t always work properly if you don’t pull the mouse in the exact right way. Some things let you use the scrollwheel which is okay I guess but still meh but some things I can’t seem to manipulate unless I’m dragging.
Another question: is there a list of LVARs that can be used?
Is it possible to navigate with VOR and ADF?
I found I have to operate the wobble pump twice. Once to get the fuel pressure up to prime an engine. After having the ramp agent spin up the flywheel and before I click the mesh flywheel button, I needed to operate the wobble pump again because the fuel pressure had gone back to zero.
Check the kneeboard, there is a transponder option
