Bill Ortis has updated his Wittman Tailwind collection for MSFS! I remember flying this on FS2004 in ancient times. This looks waay better.

Apparently, there are a couple of bugs that are already known, but it has some pretty nice features. The 10 looks like a veritable rocket!

Just a heads up, the package was repaired today and uploaded to SimMarket. The Attitude instrument animation is fixed. It should be online in the morning, Germany time.

Picked this up today and spent the last couple of hours flying the 8 and 10 models.
So well done! Really fun to fly, the 10 model’s a little homebuilt rocket and the less powerful 8 feels noticeably different. Love the analog instruments in the earlier builds.
So many liveries! And a really nice manual with tons of info on systems, flying at the right speeds, the plane’s history, and how to make s’mores.
Heck of a deal for under $18.
Looks epic! Wonder how many months before it makes it to the in-game store.
What are the sounds like?
Does it feel nice in the air?
How is the Landing feeling?
Can it land quite short?
Ground handling feel “grippy” enough?
Sounds are stock Asobo. The C-152 for the W-8 (they use the same engine) and Extra 330 (a Lycoming 580; the W-10 is supposed to be fitted with a 540, so people who can tell a 540 from a 580 might be disappointed, he said with his tongue firmly in cheek.) Anyway, not custom sound packs, but they sound good and are appropriate to the plane.
Feels really nice in the air. Weight and fuel really affect the performance, as you’d expect on a little homebuilt like this. It’s a really nimble plane, and the W-10’s a real performer. I’m more about flight model than eye candy or crazy systems depth, and I’m enjoying how it handles.
Landing’s great. Full flaps and cut throttle, then slight nose up and you can stall it down and stop pretty short. It’s not a bush plane, but you can get in and out of tight places. Ground handling is good, though in a strong crosswind I had to compensate to keep one wing from lifting on takeoff.
Lots of fun variations, and the manual is a fun read and a good indicator of Bill’s enthusiasm for the plane.
@Editer , which model is your fave? W-8 or W-10?
For me, who created the package, oddly, my fave was first the W-10 as it has modern side windows, a cool rudder with racing rudder/fin on the tail (low and square). But the W-8 I think is now pretty much my fave, even with it slower and no high technology in the panel. More pure…

They’re both fun! Love the performance of the W-10. But my fave is the W-8, as I’m just more a fan of the uniqueness of analog panels. All the Garmin panels feel so similar across aircraft
I agree. I am used to needles myself. But I do like a GPS screen for the map.
You’ve surpassed all your previous models with this Bill, it’s a great aircraft and fabulous fun to fly in sim!
awww, this plane is really not good. i just picked it up on sale based on some of the good comments here and the fact that i have enjoyed previous releases from this dev but this one is just bad. flying straight and level, push full rudder and the plane will actually roll like you’ve input full aileron deflection. that defies anything i know about what a plane should do. sorry, not acceptable
And yet we had streamers promoting it. I still wish Twitch would do more to force streamers to clearly label their streams with #AD, or similar.
