I’m just going to post this here… I’ve been having a discussion about Scale of cockpits in other threads… They seem to small… I’m not saying this fix is for everyone… But it works for the Index… Since that’s what I got!
Change your SteamVR Beta SS (Super Sampling) Settings (Both the Default and the Custom for MSFS) to 80 or less… And in the MSFS In Game Settings change your scaling to at least 100% (it has to be higher than your steam SS Setting… You want to scale UP)
This should help with your World Size issues in game. As an Added benefit read below.
I’m getting about 53.5 Average FPS… I’m running at 88 SS and 120 In game scaler…
I gave up for now trying to run glass cockpit aircraft… But I’m getting these type of FPS and the scale seems right in the C152 and the piper. The Route I took was From KPWM to KSFM. I went from Sub 35 to 25 FPS before!!
What I think is going on is that your are scaling your HDM from say SS 110 or higher… And than the game scales your render down (its defaulted at 80) which might be shrinking your view.
But if you try this method your getting two benefits… Your scaling UP… And your also going to increase your FPS a little… With not much hit to your In game looks.
This might not be effecting all HDM… But its certainly causing issues with the Index.
Another one of my Response For The Refresh Rate Issues: About REFRESH RATE
Again Incase anyone missed my Setup (from all the last times I was complaining about ■■■■ frames in VR)
GTX 3080
I7 8700K CPU.
32 Gigs Ram.
Oh and with the Index I’m running at 120 Hz… Which is the trick… you got to remember that when your HDM (like the index) can’t run at its default Refresh rate… It gets cut in half… And tops off at that number for FPS. So in this case, I know it can’t run at 120… But once cut in half I’m going to top out at max 60 FPS.
If you run at 90 Refresh Rate, you can’t run at that either!! So that gets cut in half, and now you can only max out at 40 FPS… Which was one of my major issues I was doing in last few days.
