Remove ground vehicles from active taxiways!

I thought the ground staff were drunk behind the wheel and that it was an effect of the simulator, but that turns out to be an error in the simulator.

Yes, the ground traffic is annoying; almost as annoying as the airplanes that spin around on the spot.

Yes, I saw that once. I was holding short as live traffic landed, and then instead of vacating the runway they did this:

In FSX ground traffic used to travel on separate lanes which was included when the airport was designed.
Unfortunately the same does not work in FS2020 as I have tried with my very limited knowledge using the excellent airport design software from scruffyduck
So until Asobo makes some changes, we are going to have ground traffic holding up departing/arriving traffic.
Just a suggestion try reducing ground traffic a bit and see whether that reduces the problem.

basically all airports are missing a solid vehicle network to avoid this. Addin them yourself via Scenery Editor will work, but takes quite a long time…

Are black trucks FAA? Sometimes after a bad flight these trucks are around my plane

I took a trip over the channel this morning and on taxiing to parking I was met with a traffic jam, just sitting there, no message to hold position

Think you’ve landed on the Peripherique by mistake

You‘re not supposed to cross the route du solei by plane on the ground… :face_with_peeking_eye:

They are clearly on strike. It’s definitely a thing (on both sides of the channel, actually) right now !

Looks like Gibraltar where a road crosses the runway. I know, you are on the taxiway and that happens all over the place. I often have standoffs with trucks.

This is a totally reasonable compromise position that matches reality.

I really hope Asobo will prioritize this, as i very much agree that it is an immersion killer just like turning it off to avoid stupid vehicles.

Someday I hope this airport vehicle issue will be fixed. I love the realism of airport vehicles but they all should not come out to the center of the taxiways to great me.

I’m 35 airports into my 50 US state capitals trip and there have been almost no airports that I did not play demolition derby with a selection of vehicles by following the blue arrow taxi routes. Landing minutes ago at Richmond VA (KRIC) I ran through five small trucks. The good news, there were no fuel trucks stopped or planes parked in the blue arrow path this time to make the mayhem more catastrophic.

Another update has come and gone and on my first post-update test flight my destination airport taxi blue arrow ribbon took me through a van and a fuel truck.

Like I mentioned in another thread, it’s very frustrating when you want to taxi out from the [wherever] and find two airport vehicles parked in the taxiway, having a smoke and flaffing around about something, or playing on their smartphones.  And there appears to be no way to honk your horn at them.

Right now, the only resolution seems to be to run them over. . . .

I have a funny anecdote about that - and talk about realism!

I was flying in some new aircraft, (forgot which one), and I TOTALLY borked the landing beyond all recognition - ended up all over the place and ultimately drove on the grass to - eventually - reach the ramp area leaving a trail of busted signage and markers behind me.

Next thing I know there are two or three airport vehicles racing towards me - presumably to give me a thorough chewing-out for my abysmal airmanship and to get a credit-card number to pay for the signs, lights, and markers I ran over!
