Remove static aircraft on Xbox!

Remove static aircraft which only reduce performance and generates no place to park.

Please!!! It’s so annoying.

If this wish were implemented,

it would solve the problem, no?

(Also, I’m curious to know why this is tagged xbox. I would assume that we would want such a feature for all platforms, not just Xbox.)

Can you specify if this request is for Xbox? If not and you’re on PC you can already do this in the sim.

Disregard - I see the Xbox tag now.

Because PC can already do this on graphics settings, Xbox cannot.

As per the tag OP is on Xbox. Xbox users don’t have all options than PC users have. So I don’t think they have the “Traffic Airport Quality” option that allows to disable static aircraft.

Another related wish for Xbox users: Customizable graphics options for Xbox

Edit: title updated with “Xbox” and static-aircraft tag added

Which setting is it?

Edit: Okay, I was aware of the Traffic Airport Quality setting, but I didn’t know that you could set it to “Off.”

Please please PLEASE can you allow Xbox users to disable static aircraft!!??
It looks absolutely hideous, popping up literally a few yards before you approach them, is effecting performance and causing conflicts with DLC airports.

And don’t forget the randomnes of the static aircraft. You can see a glider connected to a gate or a 777 on a regional airport where the bigger jet can operate is a A320/737.

And there’s no place to park. Literally every spot at my local airport has a plane parked in it when I land.

100% agree! Remove those static aircraft, looks terrible.

This is one of my bigger annoyances with it ngl gliders or balloons are my 2 that are always where they shouldn’t be

Local airport always has an a320 loaded near where the ga flight school is a random atr where the medium sized jets go then they do get the a380 in the right spot just never the livery sometimes Ga aircraft will be in the military area

For picture above it’s in the beta and the planes were in detail the live traffic plane here is the issue one with no engines at 500m but again less static aircraft would be nice

A slider to control ga, glider/Ballon, helicopter, regional airline (saab340, ATR, a320, 737) international airline (airlines any)

And then limiting based on runway length as well the c17 and f18 should be used as assets on military bases over most ga planes the king airs do often get used by air forces tho same with the pc12 nowadays

Asobo, please give Xbox users the option to disable the static ground aircraft that appear at every airport. They take up 90% of parking, look awful, have liveries in the wrong parts of the world and cause poor performance. PC players have the option of removing these via the graphics settings - we do not and it is a massive hindrance. We should have the option to be able to remove these just as we did in MSFS 2020.

It is hilarious. I have submitted official request (feedback / suggestion) to Microsoft and received acknowledgement of the receipt. But how is it possible that something like this was ever built into the game? It would be an equivalent of F1 racing game with people walking around the track and traffic lights along the track. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to include this feature. Bizzare. The other night I arrived at Sydney and couldn’t find a parking spot. Glider was in the way. And every other gate was occupied.

From the outside, this seems like a reasonably easy problem to fix. The parking spots already have names like “GA large”, “Gate”, and “Cargo”. If you assign these static planes an equivalent category, then only planes of a certain category could be allowed to spawn at certain parking spots.

That’s not a feature, it’s a bug which basically was already in place on MSFS 2020 for some aircraft like the JU52.

The issue seems to be that on the passive aircraft models configuration all aircraft have the same gate types defined in atc_parking_types due to some copy/paste error (so they all just use “atc_parking_types= GATE, RAMP, CARGO”)

Using third party models like AIG on PC does not show such behavior - aircraft from the pack spawn on the correct parking types.

From the other night and a cross post of mine from another thread. Should I just park on the grass? I’m also no where near water so nice that there are 20 float planes.

Thanks - Could you please let me know whether it is possible to replace generic liveries of the static aircraft with the realistic ones even if the positioning of the aircraft is incorrect as you described. I was thinking, whether buying different aircraft model liveries would fix this but I still can’t work out the logic why sometimes I can see B757 in Boeing livery or A330 even some correct liveries and other times its that awful generic model with orange blue purple colours. Is there any logic to this?

i strongly agree, or at least they give us an option to reduce the air traffic, i really think it will make the performance on xbox way better and smoother especially in big airports.

On Xbox you’d have to rely on something like “Simple Traffic” from Aerosoft, so some payware addon which provides real life liveries for the existing airliners. However as the passive aircraft currently are encrypted it’s pretty hard to create such liveries without direct support from Asobo/MS.

For parked aircraft the sim is looking for some specific identifiers normally if a correct livery (which is correctly configured) is available. For this to work however the airports gates need also to be configured correctly.

An example:
At EDDF Terminal 1 is basically Lufthansa exclusive.
For the sim to correctly place parked aircraft the aircraft livery needs to have the field “atc_parking_codes” populated with the airlines ICAO code (DLH in this case) on one hand. On the other hand the airports gates configuration for each gate to be used by Lufthansa must also include the same ICAO code.

While this is also not a hard matching criteria (the system is scoring based) it will increase the chance for a livery to spawn.

If the correct static aircraft will spawn is scored by a combination of:

  1. The aircraft size in the flight dynamics
  2. The atc_parking_types allowed by the aircraft livery
  3. The atc_parking_codes used
  4. The airport configuration (which must contain the correct gate dimensions for the types allowed and the same parking_code

If gates are too big instead of a LH A320 a LH A330 May spawn, of gates are too small you’ll only see A320s instead of B748s, if they use the wrong type you’ll see LH A330s on the Cargo ramp and if nothing is properly you’ll see the chaos you see basically with Northrop Grumman E2-Ds sitting at some random gate

Because of the configuration needed you’ll see correctly placed aircraft only on payware airports (and even in their case it won’t work 100% as there always is some variation or limited space)
