Removing default aircraft

If I go into Content Manager and remove default aircraft to save space (for example, the PC-6 Porter), will that plane no longer appear at airport as static planes? Or is there a generic model that still exists in order to populate airfields?

I want to remove all of the default planes I don’t fly (i only fly DLC planes), however I’m worried it’ll kill the airporter immersion if none of them no longer spawn on the airfield.

Thanks for any insight into this.

If it’s deleted from the Content Manager, it will be gone from the sim, including static. If you’re on a PC, the default planes that are not locked down can be removed from the selection menu with a cfg file edit.

that’s exactly what I’m wanting to do, remove the clutter from the selection menu. do you know what to edit? or point me in the right direction?

I’m not on my gaming rig right now, but the Aircraft.cfg will have one or more [fltsim.x] entries. In each of those, there is a line that says something like IsUserSelectable= with either a zero or one for a boolean value. Zero will remove it from the selection menu.

The easiest way to make all the edits on a plane with several liveries is to use the substitute function. In either Notepad or Notepad++, hit Ctrl+H. Enter the original line in the first section, and the desired change in the second. Just remember to make a backup copy first.
