What is the most optimal way of removing planes or items that are not used?

Click on the picture or avatar of any content that you wish to delete and a tick will appear by each … then bottom right of the screen select delete

If it is scenery , the best way is to disable it in the content.xml file ,
This way you dont have to redownload it after every update , plus some Asobo sceneries share content
for example Package name=“microsoft-airport-lszh-zurich” active=“false”
Don’t you think that rather defeats the point of the exercise as it will still take up drive space?
Depends on the nature of the exercise. If the exercise is to save drive space, yes. If instead the exercise is to speed up loading, then no.

Of course you are right in that sense but the “remove” in the OP and thread title is pretty clear.
