Repeated CTD's 1.18.14.0 & 1.18.15.0

No issues since launch last year now it wont stay open for 2 min before crashing. Even in safe mode. Re-installed 3 times, zero third party content (wont run long enough for me to install any!)

ANYONE notice CTD on landing challenges now?

After running a safe mode test, confirmed that the G3000 new mod by Working Title now can CTD the sim. It’s a shame, because it’s a good mod, but how can we tell them that it NEEDS an update after latest hotix? I can’t find a way to contact them.

The TBM Improvement mod also CTD’s the sim.

This is my Hardware:
AMD Ryzen 9 3900X
3.80 GHZ
32 GB Ram
500 GB SSD for the Game and 500GB for the System
GTX 1070 with 8Gb
Internet DSL 100
New Installation, no Mods, updated Driver, no Traffic on, Weather is on preset with noc clouds, Virtual Memory is managed by Windows 10.
The Game runned with WU4 like a charme.
Every other Application or Game runs like Hell.
Greetings and thanks for your response!

No mention of file system or overclocks but assuming it’s not that and you haven’t forgotten the US English pack I would suggest checking your memory one stick at a time.

Hey @ChrisMyAss , I have no fix for you, just know you’re not alone. I have the exact same Exception Code and Fault Offset as you:

I’ve tried basically everything I now I can’t even get into the menu 90% of the time.

Hello @DensestSnail693,
I tried what you suggested yesterday. The US Enlish Pack is already installed and the Ram Check passed with no errors. The System on my SSD is exFAT.
Regards

MSFS no longer works on exFAT since SU5 due to its new (and faster) data processing. It must be NTFS and if I remember rightly it even said that in the original install notes.

now… as these reason exists FAQs

exFAT DRIVES (ALL VERSIONS)
If the sim is installed on a drive formatted in exFAT, format the drive to NTFS instead.

as @DensestSnail693 also mentioned … ( not sure abouit “no longer” , may be since ever  … also the hint: exFAT is not a better filesystem, it have advantages and also some disadvantages )

Since WU6 I had no more CTDs, but yesterday 3 hours into flight suddenly CTD.

Now 6 hours into flight suddenly CTD…

Dunno what’s wrong here, since FSX never had any CTD issues for me and this thing just won’t get rid of it. Nothing more to say than ain’t no more trust into Asobo that this thing is ever gonna be stable

Since Wu4 i had serveral crashes to Desktop. I clicked on the Fly Button and i had a CTD. When i moved the world map i had a CTD. @DensestSnail693 Thx a lot for your help Bro.
I copied everything from my SSD (exFat) to another drive. Then i formated the SSD into NTFS. I moved everything back on my SSD and that was the Solution for me.
I am back in the Air and will make a longer flight tomorrow to check the Game!!!
The Best is that i have now 35fps (Ultra Settings 1080P) on my System over Manhatten.
Regards @all.

Well this is refreshing, it makes a change to “why don’t my 2004 FSX mods work anymore?!?!”

Uninstalled GeForce experience (suggestion from another simmer to uninstall GForce Experience) and increased cache to 20 Gig. Not sure which one fixed my CTD? Will come back here if this did not fix issue. So far longitude flying without any issues?

10 perfect flights then CTD? I am now lost, but CTD did happen during approach arrival to kdtw. This is where most CTD s happen?

Same flight again with weather off. When I turned onto the STAR. CTD about time airport scenery is loading? Most of my CTDs happen near the airport.

Once the CTDs start, they continue with every flight until I make a change in the sim settings like cache size or turn off both real traffic and real weather.

Go figure!

I would recommend a few decades…
Then welcome to frustrating Micromanure Crash Sim.

How about CTDs for getting close to certain airports?

I treated myself to a new computer and I managed 3 flights today of around 8 hours total without a single CTD, now to try adding the longitude mod and see what happens! Ironically my logbook is now playing up and it had been working well on my old computer…

Hi guys just cheking in to confirm that moving to NTFS resolves the CTD!!!
incredible i would have never find it if not for you pepole thx!! we should make everybody aware of this because is not easy to spot as was working all godd with exFAT32 priori to SU5… anywawy NTFS is the waY!!!

Does anyone know what this CTD is about?

After many days without a CTD with my new computer, I clicked “Fly Now” and the sim crashed! That never happened once on my old computer, I’m hoping its a one off!

Well I’m back!

After server came back up I now get CTD when using the map? Usually it’s in flight CTD? Also notice a constant message “connection lost switch to offline”. I monitor my internet connection and there is not a problem here that I can see? The sim automatically reconnects most of the time. Does anyone know the internet disconnect timeout for connection lost message? I.e., 10ms, 1sec,….

Nothing more to say except, if I can get 2 out of 3 good flights, I can except this!
