Same here. CTD’s all the time. MSFS is unplayable now. What a mess! Why is it so difficult to update a game without problems?! Don’t they test an update before launch?
And I don’t care what the reason is. I wan’t a sollution. Quick!
the crashing is constant. Did people submit the millionth ticket for crashes? Its disgusting because the sim performs great, now a crash a few minutes into a flight. ARE tickets submitted to the desk?
I turn off live traffic month earlier amd nv turn it on as i check now… nothing in community folder and using only mixed of mid to high selection in my settings, no ultra. These same setting i used before SU5 serve me well most of the time. Have a mid range computer i guess with i7-7700k @4.2ghz, gtx 1080.
CTDs 70% of the times. Nv had that in any previous updates. How now?
As asobo boast and many users saw for themselves the unbelievable smooth flight and performance increased …but why wouldnt asobo uses this method of coding the sim right from day 1 if it is such a fantastic option in term of performance and with no obvious down side? This is poor integrity on the part of the developer if they knew that there are high risk to certain group of users whom are gg to suffer big time with this change, but went ahead with this SU5 regardless.
Same here. Never had CTD issues before. Hardware unchanged, and suddenly CTD’s everywhere (menus and in game). Not had enough time before CTD to take off yet.
Had CTD’s even with empty community folder and AI traffic off - what worked for me (so far) is disabling Hardware Virtualization in BIOS. I was able to do a short flight and some landing challenges without fault.
By default, this is off so I’m not sure if this will help many. It does lend credence to this being a CPU issue of some sort, however. Hence why disabling traffic also seems to help some.
My CTD is repeatable - Take off to the west in the Flight Design CTLS from London City runway 27 and the sim always crashes when I’m around 650ft, just to the east of docklands.
All AI scenery settings off, default London scenery.
I did manage a long flight by taking off from Luton and flying over London at around 2000ft so I suspect it’s related to scenery re-drawing?
Was working OK before the last update. I installed the update this morning and I’ve been unable to use FS2020 since then. Sim starts, I can see the main menu. Sometimes I am able to create a flight and start it on runway before it CTD. Sometimes it even CTD while in main menu. Vanilla installation and never used any add-ons/aircrafts. Empty community folder and AI traffic off.
Turns out my CTDs were being caused by Process Lasso, where I had set up some CPU affinities that the new FS can’t seem to deal with. It’s more or less stable for me now, except once in while it freezes for a minute plus, then comes back and keeps running. So weird… the gaphical downgrades are awful though, everything shimmers so much in VR now and I actually have worse performance in GA planes without glass.
Forgot to mention I don’t use Process Lasso, MSI or any other CPU/GPU apps. I noticed that right before the crash, I get a “Disk # has been surprise removed” error message, then FS2020 crashes. The “disk” in question is the XBOX VXD virtual disk in Device Manager under “Disk Drives”. If I disable it, I can’t start FS2020 because it complains it can’ find it. I don’t have XBOX App installed. I also get “Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered” error at the same time as the CTD. Reported all via zendesk.
Never had a single CTD before SU5. Now I’m crashing all the times. In the main menu, in-game, loading after selecting options in World Map, etc… Extremely frustrating to try to play now.
I’m like most of you. I’ve got few CTD (3 or 4) for 10 months and as much since SU5.
I’m just trying to turn off the overclooking of my GPU/CPU (I’ve got i9 10900KF; 64 Go RAM and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090) and play the game for about 1 hour with no CTD. Maybe a way to have a look for some of you ?
Already had 2 CTD in the last hour. The first when loading a bush trip, the second touching down at the airport. Never had these problems before. We need a hotfix quick…
