Resolution change from 3840x2160 to 7680x2160 results in instant CTD

Yes. Occurs on clean MSFS install.

Brief description of the issue:

Changing resolution in-game from 3840x2160 to 7680x2160 or 5120x1440 causes CTD. Fullscreen, DX11 and DX12.

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

Reinstalled MSFS and was using a 4K screen. Received by ultrawide 7680x2160 Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo and connected it. MSFS launched still in 3840x2160 on new screen, stretched to fullscreen. Went into General and tried to change resolution to 7680x2160, which resulted in an instant CTD after pressing Apply. Tried to change to a 5120x1440 the second time, also resulted in a CTD. Solution: change resolution via Geforce Experience app and launch MSFS from there.

Many issues may be due to an outdated graphics card. Please state your Graphics Card Driver Manufacturer (NVIDIA, Intel, AMD) and Version (Learn how to find your current graphics card driver version):
