I’m on my original cable and bought the G2 on pre-order back in 2020. While it didn’t see much use for the first 2 years of ownership due to the GPU shortage/prices, I’ve had no issues besides the occasional black screen. I feel it’s not the cable per se, but perhaps the CPU load or a dip in power output or something. It only happens in MSFS when there’s a heavy load and stutter in frame rate, as when first opening a complex VR window (Navigraph, Sky4Sim).
But based on the earlier post from RedBackFlyer two above yours, maybe the cable is contributing to the issue, even though it’s not “faulty” as such since it works just fine if my computer isn’t having a momentary struggle.
HP have replaced one speaker under warranty as I had sound cutting out intermittently in one ear, but I didn’t think they’d replace the cable this long after the warranty had expired. Could be worth a try, if only as a backup, but I feel a bit cheeky in asking. It’s a minor issue that, so far, I can live with. It only last 1-2 seconds, and only once an hour on average (not counting first time opening of map panels in VR). No more intrusive than the family dropping in, or having to lift the headset to drink some in-flight tea ![]()
