Reverb G2 + junkers near chicago with su7 20 fps at best?

Im using 65 oxr + RS set to 100, LOD is at 110 and buildings at 90, clouds on medium

With these settings and default chicago city (no Drz addon enabled) i get around 20 fps around the city.
I do have KORD fsdt installed but i’m further away. In 2D around 52 fps at 4k.

By comparison, In the b58 near nyc (default city again) i can average 24-30 fps pretty consistently. I even have the headset set to 60hz.

Chicago area isnt bad though, it could be smoother if near 30. However, if i enable drz chicago city, its a nightmare, around 8 fps to 12 max in VR. (2d around 43)

Whats a typical VR frame rate with the junkers for anyone else with a similar setup. Im on the 3080 ftw3 video card and 10900k at 4.7Ghz.

FS2020 is being run as administrator in my tests as well:
Here are the rest of the settings:
Render Scale (or TAA) = 100
Terrain level of detail 110
Off screen caching Ultra
Buildings medium
trees medium
grass medium
OLOD 90
Volumetric Medium
Texture Res Ultra
Anisotropic 16x
Supersampling 4x4
Texture synthesis high
Water waves High
Shadow maps 768
Terrain shadows 256
Contact shadows Low
Windshield effects high
Ambient occulusion off
cubemap 192
Raymarched low
light shafts low
bloom off
glass cockpit high

I was having the same issue, and found out that when I did the update (thru Steam) it messed up some settings and even added a new profile for my keyboard!. Weird stuff, started happening to many others. First, I lost between 7-8 FPS and then my settings were changed to all assists, when I originally had it on all hard, no assist at all except for Co-pilot assisted ATC). Others also had the world not turning which was later discovered it was cause, apparently, by a corrupted profile (mouse, I think.). In 2D I am getting 60+ FPS with everything Ultra. I have a Strix 3090 OC. I tried everything, finally I decided to do a complete uninstall and re-install. Steam saves your settings and profiles, and when I re-install MSFS all of my ORIGINAL settings were there and my VR is back to normal on my G2.
Keep in mind that the new weather system puts a heavy load on our cards. I lower a few settings to high and left some of them at Ultra. I do not use openxr tool at all, I do not find the need. My RS is set at 100 and when it gets real cloudy over a large city I get between 25 and 28 FPS, which it is fine with me, I do not do barn storming or racing. From 2000-3000+ everything is pretty smooth and looks awesome.

By not using open xr, you mean you just don’t set anything, are you saying you can get more than 20 fps in the ju near Chicago

I get decent frames elsewhere in other craft though

I don’t user the “OpenXR Developers Tool”, one less thing to mess with and my G2 runs great.

There is a big thread on this but for information I am using OXR 200 and TAA 65. Smooth and all in ultra with 3090

Do you have those numbers right? 200 on oxr? That would melt my machine, anything more than 65 generally does.

Im on the 3080 for reference, some of you guys with the 3090’s may be better off just because, well, its the 3090

My number are right! Before SU7 I was running okay. With the new update I run smoothly…but get CTD a lot in VR. I am testing 2D just to confirm if the CTD situation is due to VR or if it’s something else. But yeah 200 OXR and 65 TAA in sim works like magic. Give it a try and let me know what you get.

With my 3080 this melted me, at least with the junkers aircraft near chicago… i set oxr to 200, set render scale to 65, melted the card lol… 0.67 fps

Ill post my other settings in the first post (mostly medium to high)

So for those that say things are smooth, however it is or has been done, uninstalled/reinstall or otherwise…

Can someone with a 3080 confirm that if you take the junkers up in the air near chicago default, you are getting more than 20 fps in VR (my goggles are set to 60, but it would still be 20 either way)? If so then i clearly have a glitch, if not then i probably should try the uninstall/reinstall or maybe uninstall oxr. This particular scenario is my one stop comparison so far (as i’ve mentioned i can get near 30 fps near default nyc though, in the baron, well maybe 24-30) and for reference i run fs2020 as admin

So you still have “openxr for windows mixed reality” installed, just not the dev tool, right? Just double checking, about to try it without open xr dev tool (i think its the same as unchecking custom though, which i’ve tried)

EDIT: tried uninstalling openxr dev tools… i cant tell if MR is on or not, but, the frame rate was higher like 40ish fps near chicago), but it was stuttery, not smooth at all.

I tried the uninstall… things are still a mess (used nyc for a quick test with the b58), this even using openxr dev tool at 65%, i also tried with openxr dev tool uninstalled… this is all with the 3080… no joy… if anyone says they an use the junkers near chicago at higher than 20 or b58 near buildings of nyc at a solid 30, id be shocked (with 3080), or i have something seriously screwed up with my system.

One more thing I didn’t mention, I am using Nvidia “Studio” drivers. The latest “game” drivers were not just an updated driver where they just added new games, they actually added new features. With so many things messed up right now, I decided to go with the studio driver, for stability… I don’t have the Junkers, but it sounds to me that the plane needs an update if the others FPS are ok. Also, since we are all limited by our video cards, and I have a Strix 3090 OC, the settings in the Nvidia driver where you set your pre-render frames, should be set to default, which is one.
